Major League Baseball will void the Orioles' contract with 17-year-old Korean pitcher Seong-Min Kim, MASNSports.com's Roch Kubatko reports.

The Korean Baseball Association announced last week it had banned Orioles scouts from attending games in the country after it felt like the Orioles had broken an agreement not to sign players that young.

The Orioles later issued an apology, claiming ignorance of the "breach of protocol."

The Orioles singed Kim to a minor-league contract on Jan. 30 that reportedly included a $550,000 bonus. The Korean Baseball Organization said the Orioles didn't contact MLB first to receive clearance from the KBO to begin negotiations.

Report: MLB to void Orioles' contract with Korean

Orioles Ain't Able to Rob the Cradle

Orioles ain't got no Seoul
They broke Korean protocol.
Their scouts are dim
To sign a teen named Seong-Min Kim.
Too bad the Birds of 1901
Went to the Bronx to shine in the sun.
Yeah, the Yankee dudes
Once had Baltimore roots.
So the Birds are banned
In Kia land,
It don't matter
They don't have a Ripken
Palmer, or Robinson
To climb back up the ladder.
Bring back the teen
In 2017
When you can buy him a drink
Sign him to a contract
and throw in the kitchen sink.
Pay the KBO, it's in the cards
To have him play
At Camden Yards.

Now watch....six months from now he'll end up signing with the Yankees or Red Sox because they received "proper clearance".

Report: MLB to void Orioles' contract with Korean

Just the kind of thing we come to expect from the Orioles franchise. It is hillarious that they actually came out and said they were Ignorant! Well that's a start for one. I'm sure there are many other names they could be called for driving that franchise into the ground. Heck, fourth place is out of reach for that group. Is Guthrie the number one on the staff still? Wouldn't suprise anyone at all. Lose 20 games, "He's our numero uno".

If things with Iran get so dire that we're left with no choice but to send in troops, I hope Congress has the foresight to check in with the KBO first, you know, for its blessing.

Just more ineptitude from the Orioles management. As long as Peter Angelos owns this team, they will be the laughing stock of the Major Leagues. Peter, please sell the team to Cal so they can begin to get back to a proud franchiise. Cal has a group all ready to pounce once Angelos finally sells.

Does Seong-Min Kim have to give back the $550,000.00 signing bonus?  I think the Korean Baseball Association wants theirs, so if the Orioles slip a few bucks to the yakuza KBA, the missing birth certificate indicating Kim's real age of 18 will be magically found and the O's will not be violating the agreement not to sign players that young.  MLB will say it was all a misunderstanding because they did not know about the real birth certificate indicating the ball player is actually 18 years old.

All will be satiated relieved and each will live happily ever after.
