First of all he is Left Handed and he throws no faster then 75 mph and that screws with more players then any 3 pitchers that throw 100 mph. Their timing is messes up for 3 games the one moyer pitched then the two after. i do hope he makes the Rockies Rosters.

I have never enjoyed watching him pitch; it's kind of mystifying, and a little boring.  But I have always enjoyed watching him succeed.  Say, hey kid.

Probably the most painful pitcher to watch come to town, seeing the jumbo tron radar consistently read in the 70's and wonder why your team isn't taking him yard every time beyond frustrating. With that being said its nice, to see someone not gifted with an amazing amount of talent make it for so long.

Jamie was never an overpowering picture from the start, he has always relied on being the "crafty" lefty that he is. My favorite memories of Jamie were of him taking the mound for the Mariners and leading them into contention. Now I just enjoy every opportunity to see him on the hill defying age and doing what he does against kids not even born when his journey began. While old age and cunning may not prevail over youth and enthusiasm every time I bet it will often enough for him to keep getting on the hill as long as he feels like he still can.

Many years ago the great Roy Campanella said, ''in order to play & enjoy baseball, you have to have a 'little boy' inside of you". In other words, be youthful, have fun, and play as if you were still in the schoolyard or sandlots.  He played for many years and had great fun in doing so.  Speaking for myself, having played in the sandlots of Brooklyn, NY I remember that it felt as if I was in Heaven every time I played this wonderful game.

It is clearly evident that Jamie plays with an incredibly youthful enthusiasm. A 49 year old that plays with the same joy that I had as a 12 year old in Jefferson Sand Field or Prospect Park, Brooklyn  back in the early 1960s.  Age has been no barrier or impediment at all to him.  While he has slowed down a bit, the joy this great game gives him is what motivates his continued career. Let's hope he will succeed at least one more time.  Another season in the sun for the Grand Old Man of MLB.

Good luck to Jamie!
