NFC East Prediction 2010

Posted on: June 5, 2010 2:51 am

Last year I predicted The Giants would beat Dallas and win the division. One out of 2 is not bad.

This year I predict New York and Dallas will beat each others brains out for the division. Who ever wins it could go all the way.

Dallas Cowboys:

Miles Austin was a Beautiful surprise for the Cowboys. Roy Williams should be able to get it together this year. No.1 Draft pick Dez Byant will be a force to reckon with and Patrick Crayton is good enough to hold his own. Looks like Tony Romo finally has a full set of Deep Threats that could set the tone for the Cowboys SuperBowl chances this year. The Running game is good enough. The defensive backfield could be questionable. The only part about the Cowboys that concerns me is the Offensive Line. LT Flozell Adams is a big loss despite his age no matter what anyone says. Whoever takes his place had better be up to the challenge or it could hurt the boys.

Predict finish 11-5   - ( Division winner over New York by an Eyelab )

New York Giants:

The G-Men have made all the right moves this off season plugging up the holes on the Defensive side of the ball. You can't go wrong adding another dangerous pass rusher like DE Jason Pierre-Paul in the mix. Adding him to an already dangerous pass rushing unit will put alot of things back into place. Osi Umenyiora will surely return to his usual dangerous pass rushing form. Justin Tuck, Barry Cofield and Mathias Kiwanuka are always reliable. LB Clint Sintom is ready to make a name for himself. Rookie MLB Phillip Dilliard is no Rolando McClain, But he's no stranger to getting his hands on the QB. Still it could take him a full year to learn the whole system. Defense should not be a problem for this team. Offensively they're set. Eli Manning played with a banged up ankle all of last year and is in great shape this year and has a full set of recievers that are now proven players. With Andre Brown coming back fresh and healthy - It will be a tremendous boost to the running game of Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs. Tough to find a major weakness on this team.

Predict Finish 11-5   - ( Division Winner or Wild Card - Giants are back in the post season )

Washington Redskins:

The Redskins have done it all this off season. Big Coaching Changes, Big QB changes, Even a Big Draft. I would not be surprised one bit if This team ends up going a long way in the post season. Especially if Donavan McNabb has at least one or two Major SuperBowl Fight left in him. The Skins have assembled all the pieces in place. Coach Mike Shannahan is no stranger to producing championship caliber teams. You have to love their draft pick OT Trent Williams who should prove to be a huge success. If this team has any real source of concerns - Age at WR's could slow this team down a bit, But still it looks promising. However in reality - It may take a full year to put it all together, But knowing Shannahan - It may all come together by December.

Predict Finish 9-7

Philadephia Eagles:

Out with the old in with the new. McNabb Gone. Kevin Kolb will have his chance to prove his value to the team. Not many weaknesses on this team despite the loss of McNabb and Westbrook, But can they be nearly as dangerous in the running game without Brian Westbrook ?  The Eagles still have a solid Roster. A solid draft pick, and a solid coaching staff. Kolb is no Donavan McNabb and he's not even in the class of Tony Romo, He's not even in the league of Eli Manning, But he's good enough to hold his own. There's only one true major source of concern I can see with this team that can hurt them going into this season. The Eagles have a history of starting out slow only to get back into the thick of things in the second half of the season. With all 3 of their division rivals making big improvements in the off season - Can they really afford to start off slow ?  MacNabb always had this thing for pulling the Eagles out of the hole. Who can really guarantee that Kolb will do the same. At least they have big playmaking WR's, a decent RB in LeSean McCoy and a solid defense to give them a fighting chance. I would not count this team out. They will go as far as Brian Kolb takes them.

Predict Finish 9-7

( Between Eagles and Redskins - One of them will capture the final wild card spot in the playoffs )

NFC East Prediction 2010

what kind of doctors the giants have? it seems that they can't ever escape the injury bug. unlike their little brothers, the Jets who trying to win it all for the first time in over 40 years, the giants seeming trying tp put the pieces together after a horrendous season. on paper, they may look like a dead last place team in the NFC East, but it seems no one remembers the 2007-2008 season. once again, it seems the giants can't get no respect at all. the only way the giants can sneak in as a WC is that farve doesn't shows up for the viqueens and the falcons and bears choke the rest of the way!

NFC East Prediction 2010

Cowboys 12-4 NFC  East Champions and will lose to the Saints in the NFC Championship game. GIANTS 9-7 fall short of making the playoffs again and Tom Coughlin and OC, Kevin Gilbride will be fired. Eagles 9-7 it won't be the offense, but their defense will be their downfall! redskins 6-10 sure now they have McNabb, but it will be the OLine and running game will betray them!

Giants are the team to beat in NFC East

NFC East Prediction 2010

Who says The Giants have no chance to win the division and go far in the post season ?  Even with one of the worst defenses in the league last year, Eli playing with a banged up ankle, and Jacobs & Umenyiora having their worst seasons - The G-Men still swept The Cowboys and went on to win 4 out of 6 games inside their division. Now that they've got a proven Defensive Coordinater in Fewell and plugged up the holes in defense with a strong draft and smart Free Agent signings - They have now given breathing room to their chances. Dallas has issues with their defensive backfield and their offensive line. The Eagles are forced to take a step back with the loss of McNabb and Westbrook. The Redskins have aging players in key position that may or may not be playing on their last legs.  As far as the competition in the conference is concerned, Who can guarantee The Saints can handle the pressure of being SuperBowl Champs ? Even if Farve comes back - His age is bound to catch up to him at some point late in the season and might even cost The Vikings a couple of important games in December. It all favors big blue no matter how you look at it.

NFC East Prediction 2010

I think you're pretty close, BUT the Redskins will be more like 6-10.
Mostly because McNabb is not as good as you are giving him credit for being and Shanahan is not going to be able to run the ball like he did in Denver this soon, especially with his geriatric RB crew.
