EA Sports Madden '11 QB, Team Ratings Revealed

i agree camer0n, i was talking to a buddy of mine and told him about my dream game. i however, used headcoach as the shell i would use, so to speak. what i would like to see is a game that starts after superbowl III (1970) when the AFL and NFL merged. it would be cool to see things like expansion teams, changing uniforms and rules and the like as you progress through the years. not to mention the ultra cool drafts that would happen.

ahh well it will never happen, but still, how sweet would that game be (talk about building up your favorite team).

EA Sports Madden '11 QB, Team Ratings Revealed

I would like to be able to start my franchise at a different year. I know it would be hard to get player ratings from historical players. But if they want to try to see if it works can't they just go back and use the ratings from the old madden games. It would be cool to be able draft players from the 1992 draft class or whatever year you want to start. If it works they can try to go back further if it doesn't scratch it like they did QB vision.  it would be cool if they could figure out how to start a franchise from the year they released the first madden game whenever that was.

Hello Brady hater...

If you truly believe that, you're an idiot. Tom Brady is still the best QB around, along with Peyton.
He won Superbowls with WRs that couldn't play for any other team (Reche Caldwell, Doug Gabriel, Bethel Johnson, David Givens, Patten, even Deion Branch was a flop with the Seahawks). He carried the team many times. And last season he had a great, 4400,00 yard season with a very high completion percentage and 28 TDs and very few interceptions. That after coming back from knee surgery. The Pats' Defense sucked last year and that was the team's downfall. That's it. But it surely wasn't Brady's fault.

great observations CptMasterShake..................(although I'm not sure about the "oodles and noodles" comment)!!  jk

What turned me off from the online franchise was, the commissioners!!  I got kicked out of one online frachise for not accepting some ridiculous trade from the commissioner!!  That's absurd.  If you want to boot someone for missing x amount of games, fine.  But when your security in the league is based on your relationship with the commissioner, dumb.  Especially when it's a paid service.

I think the concept is fantastic, and was hyped when they brought it along.  What the smallest amount of power can turn some people into is absolutely amazing.  There should be clear-cut rules as to what constitues a "bootable" offense.  Not trading Sean Smith, Joey Porter, and Cameron Wake to the Steelers for Rashard Mendenhall when I already have Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams shouldn't be one of them!!!

EA Sports Madden '11 QB, Team Ratings Revealed

First off, the gameplay of actual games can be fun, but the essence of the game, and football, can all be found without the "rating this, team rating that" and focuses just on running, passing, whatever, with a different scoring system, and that's the under appreciated Madden Tests and Training simulator. It's just like playing "Police Trainer" at the arcade instead of "House of the Dead 2." So what if your targets aren't Zombies or Bank Robbers and are instead Literal Targets or Floating silver's all the challenging gameplay without the bells and whistles that only slowdown the progress of the game and clog up what could be playing time.

Secondly, Online Franchise is what is keeping me interested in the Madden development. Of course they did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to upgrade it from last year...but it was still the best part of the game. Getting three friends from around the country to have a Draft, all picking teams from the same division, and not allowing any trades, was Oodles and Noodles of fun. It was always the battle for which of the four teams WASNT going to the playoffs, further puting increased relevance for the games played against the non AI. Then came the playoffs, and then the Rookie draft. We'd play about 3 season with a team, then go back and have a new draft. It was a lot of fun.
What they HAVE to do to increase its popularity is simple (maybe not coding, but simple enough)
1. - In Game Observers - Allow other people to WATCH the game as it is being played...Absolutely positvely increase popularity 3 fold. Streamed games over XBL or through Caps would be fantastic.
2. - Weekly and Season Defensive, Offensive, and overall awards. Come up with some sort of way, just like in regular Franchise, that awards players of the Week awards, as well as Season MVPs on offense and defense, as well as positional rankings. There was always arguement over "McNabb was way better having 70 touchdowns." with the opposed "No he wasn't he had 52 interceptions, and lost two games while Jay Cutler had 47 Tds and 8 interceptions and had a perfect season." Always turmoil over who the best defensive player was, who the best WR was, and RB, etc...
3. - Fix AI trading......just dumb....
4. - No code necessary - This was what kept a lot of people from doing it in the first place, as not everyone uses first bought copies of the game, a lot of people buy used or have more than one users per xbox in a family home for instance.
5. - For public listed Online Franchises, allow a Date and Time to be displayed publicly on the listing for when the Draft will be...or if the Draft has already begun. Leaving it to the discretion of the Commisioner to when the draft starts, without any time limit, etc, so it's nearly impossible to be able to participate in a public draft.
6. - Allow the message board to be accessed by everyone in the league, not just the commisioner.

Madden could be a great game, if they actually wanted to spend some of the money they make on it.

EA Sports Madden '11 QB, Team Ratings Revealed

ah, memories is right.  I remember staying up on Friday nights with my younger brother playing Tecmo Super Bowl.  And the Bills were the bomb!  Thurman Thomas, baby!!

I love playing Madden, and buy it every year.  But monopoly in any facet of our society is not good.  Ever since EA got the exclusive rights, the game innovation has slowed.  Now, I understand that they're probably reaching their ceiling as to what they can do, but we're all essentially shelling out $60 bucks for a roster updated to include the incoming rookies, and free agent movement.  I'm sure this could be done with a patch.

Further, $60 for the game, but then pay for the AFL stuff, the online franchise, and all the other $.50 here for this, a $1 here for that, is just freakin' annoying.  Charge $80 for the game, and spare me all the nickle and dime crap.
