David Squires of The Daily Press of Hampton Roads, VA is reporting that the victim in the shooting at Michael Vick’s birthday party may have been Quanis Phillips, a co-defendant in the dog-fighting trial.

Squires’s can best be described as “word on the street”. Here’s what he wrote:

The story goes that Quanis (who showed up uninvited…Vick is not supposed to be associating with any dog-fighting co-defendants)  threatened to smash birthday cake in Vick's face, or that he actually smashed the cake in Vick's face.

Another version is that someone smashed cake in Quanis' face -- or threatened to smash it in his face.

Anyway, the confrontation moved outside -- where I'm told there were several still cameras and video cameras.

Cooler heads did NOT prevail, and 'Q' was shot in the shopping center parking lot.

It is unclear whether Vick was still around at the time of the shooting, but he was definitely not there when police arrived.

Your take on this is so far out there its ridiculous. I will only comment on the last one... He doesnt have more money than most people. He did file for bankruptcy. And the judge wasnt nice in court. He made Moron Michael pay out tons of money. So no thats not the reason. People dont like arrogant, dumb idiots thats all.

You are a moron. Vick went to jail longer thenif you or I had commited that crime. He has payed his debt to society, get over it. What is he suppose to go into convent or something, he had a birthday party and A$$HOLE showed up to crash it. You can't read and you hold grudges, take it to bed with you because thatz the only way you are gonna get satisfaction. I wasn't there and neither were you so keep on judging the man because THE MAN will judge you also. By the way I bet he gets disciplined for this and probably rightly so but your rant is full of stupidty and bias for a man you don't even know. Unless one of the dogs that he killed was yours you've got nothing but  prejudice.

wow, that is just an absurd post. where to begin?  no need to ---

That would mean, be default, that we hate every pro player because they have more money as us.

Doubt that is true, so why dont you come back with something logical and try again.

Obviously no one cares that Vick wasn't involved.  Its a no win situation.  If he had thrown a party at his house, and someone got shot 3 states away, somehow it would have all come back to Vick being involved.

Its ridiculous.  Why aren't these same people complaining about the senseless killing of animals in other countries to the point of extinction, or how about the slaughtering of Whales and Dolphins??

Pick your battles as you may, but in the end, railing on someone who has every right to enjoy himself no matter what some other mindless idiots do, is over the top.

Wow!  Tell me how you really feel......He's served his time so layoff.  Unless you were there, this has ALL been speculation and NOTHING has been confirmed.  What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty?  Slow your roll buddy

In accordance with Vick's parole, he is not to associate with ANY FELONS, not just the one's convicted in the dog-fighting case.  Allen Iverson is a convicted felon, Iverson was at the party.  So, even if you give Vick the benefit of the doubt of not knowing Phillips, or Quanis (what ever his name is) was at the party, or was not invited, there were other felons at the party.  I'd like to see a list of those that attended and who has a gun permit to carry in public.  After all someone fired a shot, Who?  All the focus is on the one who was shot, how about the shooter?  Virginia Beach press WAVY claims none of the party participants were cooperating with police.  I wonder if Carmleo Anthony was there performing in a music video "Stop Snitching"?
What's further disturbing is Vick is currently conducting a football camp for youths at Hampton University.  What kind of irresponsible parent would send their kid to this camp?
