Haynesworth has lost 32 pounds

Because there was so much commotion over Albert Haynesworth skipping the Redskins’ mandatory minicamp in June, people forget that earlier in the offseason, Haynesworth irked Mike Shanahan by choosing to work out on his own, rather than with the team. Part of Haynesworth’s reasoning was that he feels he gains more of a competitive edge working with his own trainer. Now, this from Fredericksburg.comA. Haynesworth (US Presswire):

Tripp Smith, Haynesworth's personal trainer, said in a phone interview yesterday that Haynesworth has lost 32 pounds since they began their workout regimen on April 5. He said that Haynesworth is committed to getting in top physical shape--albeit away from Redskins Park--for the start of training camp on July 29.

Haynesworth is listed at 350 pounds, but he reportedly weighed 362 in April. Losing weight is great, but likely, the Redskins would rather be monitoring the situation themselves. If Haynesworth is to indeed be the nose tackle in the new 3-4, you don’t want him slimming too far down.

Haynesworth has lost 32 pounds

I am sure that Albert Haynesworth dropping 32 lbs. is good for him healthwise and probably good for the Redskins as well.Albert is a tremendous competitor, that,s why the Washington Redskins aquired him with a record setting contract.Haynesworthes skill and training is not the problem. It,s the way things are getting done and the continued broken relationship between him and the Redskins.Instead of getting in shape with the team he is doing it on his own with his personal trainer-Tripp Smith.O.K we get it , you pissed off that Mike Shannahan and company want to implement the 3-4 scheme and you don,t like it because-does,nt fit you etc.... etc... but I personally think that first of all your an employee of the Washington Redskins organization and you need to get with the program.Secondly,if your as good as everyone thought you were coming out of  the Titans- , Everybody will recognize your in a new scheme but you still got to play up to your ability and just let the pieces fall where they may.Forget about the next contract your already PAID.But in keeping with this disconnect with your team-not reporting your shape to the team but having your personal trainer, Tripp Smith , leak it to Fredericksburg.Com: you are widening the gap between you and the Team(teammates, coaching, the fans).Your widening the gap and that,s not good for you or the Washington Redskins.

Haynesworth has lost 32 pounds

As lazy as Albert Haynsworth has been in the past I bet he balooned up to about 382 lbs. Losing 32 lbs probably just gets him back to 350 lbs.

Everyone seems to forget how lazy and ineffective Haynsworth was at the beginning of his career. He never did anything until he got the Franchise tag and thought he was playing for a contract. Then he got the Franchise tag again and he actually had to try hard for another year to get a big contract.

Now he has the big contract and he will never perform again like those two years he got the Franchise tag.

What a waste of money for the Redskins.

Haynesworth has lost 32 pounds

While I agree that weighing 362 lbs. is not "healthy", I have to believe his weigh loss is another, further attempt to NOT play NT in the 3-4 defense.  It's funny, I don't hear Jesse Jackson "weighing in" on Haynsworth signing a $100 M, 7-year deal and now whining after one year!!  That Dan Snyder must be a slave driver!!

Haynesworth,s lbs causing friction with Skins

Albert Haynesworth and the Redskins continue not to be on the same page.I,m sure Haynesworth will be in his best shape possible but in the ongoing Saga between him and his team he has decided to do it on his own keeping with the trend that the man is self-centered as depicted by the mandatory mini-camp scenario.Instead of dealing with his team ,Alberts personal trainer leaked the news through a third-party,Fredericksburg.com:Is it me or is Albert Haynesworth me against the world stance;Isolating him from his coaches, teammates and etc..Not good for him and the Washington Redskins no matter what shape he,s in.My personal thought is he is an employee of the Redskins and he needs to get with the program and learn the 3-4 scheme they are going to implement.

Haynesworth has lost 32 pounds

Albert has to think of his health first. Like the previous poster said your heart cannot maintain that weight no matter how much aerobics you do to keep your heart healthy.
Also get off his back, he is not a 3-4 NT. Playing that position is going to hurt his chances at getting another contract if he plays this one out. 3-4 NT do not get stats and team owners and GMs use stats as their main bargaining point in contractual conversations.
In this particular instance Haynesworth is right, Shanahan is wrong. (concerning playing the 3-4). Also Haynesworth deferred that balloon payment that Shanahan keeps crying about, it should have been paid with his signing bonus but the Redskins needed some help with the cap.
The Redskins are the bad guys in this Haynesworth saga, not Albert.
