Haynesworth: 'I'm tired of this BS'

Albert Haynesworth failed his second conditioning test on Friday morning -- after failing a test on Thursday as well -- and is quickly becoming the biggest NFL training camp storyline . (Brett Favre is likely not pleased.)

Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan had some pointed comments on Thursday night , but he wasn't alone. Haynesworth told NBC4 in DC , "I'm tired of this B.S., I just want to get on the field and play football."

The good (?) news for Haynesworth is that he'll get a THIRD shot to pass the test on Saturday, according to Jason Reid of the Washington Post .

Reid also notes two more things of interest: 1) Haynesworth must complete two 300-yard shuttle runs, according to sources, in under 71 seconds and 2) some players have "privately expressed concern" that Shanahan is simply trying to make an example out of Haynesworth.

If that's the case, it's certainly working.

Update (11:58): Washington made strength and conditioning coach Ray Wright available to the media. He confirmed that the test is indeed two 300-yard shuttle runs. The first must be completed in 70 seconds or less, and is followed by a two minute break, with a second 300-yard run that must be completed in 70-73 seconds. He also added, according to the WaPo 's Rick Maese on Twitter , that, "I expect him to pass it soon."

Your fault

Sir, the fault is yours. The fault is nobody else's. The "B.S." you mention? It's coming from you. You've failed these tests, and you - you alone - are responsible for it. Become a man. Take responsibility for your failure. In short, renounce Oprahism.

you know what bears, you embarrass the team, you are paid a ton of money, you do not do spring conditioning you are not BIGGER Than the team.

You let a player dictate how things will be then you lose the team.  Mike knows this.  You can not let anyone think they are bigger then the team and yea, you work for me , I am the coach and if I want to humiliate you to send a message, I CAN!

You mean your boss is in charge?  Novel, isnt it.

The Redskins where horrible last year.  The whole team should give back all the money they made last year.  Haynesworth should do whats best for the team and do what he is asked.  Never butt heads with shannahan cause you will lose.  Shannahan will field a respectable team with second stringers if he has to..

This is the NFL.....At the end of the season his numbers will serve as the true measuring stick. I really don't care about the 300 yard shuttle run in preseason and neither does anyone else!

Haynesworth is right in this fiasco? What the story is telling us is that Haynesworth got too fat in his pocket as well in the waisteline. He'll be fine once he "conditions" himself into playing shape. If you think he is right, you no NOTHING about the team concept. He knew what he signed up for when he took the $$$!!!

Money mouth   HAHA!'re one funny guy!  AND WRONG!  "Paynesworth" created hos own fiasco and you know why?  Becuase HE KNEW GOING IN WHAT HE WAS GETTING INTO.  Sorry there, big guy.  there  are 21,000,000 reasons why this guy is a pain in the A**; and I'm NOT a Redskins fan. Enough is enoght.  Don't be surprised when he fails the third time. LOL...Tongue out

What most of you don't realize is that Albert failed the conditioning test the first day because when he ran it, he passed the first part, but then took a 10 minute potty break and therefore didn't get to try the 2nd part of it.  You get a 3 1/2 minute break and he took 10 minutes.  He failed the 2nd day by 1 second.  This is not something that Shanny is doing to make an example of him, he's doing it to have Albert prove he's in football shape.

Shanny wants his players to be in game shape at the start of training camp, which is what Haynesworth is not.  The players that showed up for mini-camps were pushed to the limit and told what they were expected to be able to do by the start of training camp and pushed to be ready by the end of the mini-camp.  They ARE in game shape as far as Shanny is concerned.  Albert did get in better shape this off season, but there's a difference in being in shape and being in game shape.

Once Haynesworth gets in game shape, he'll be out on the field running at full speed, so that he won't be taking knees during games and having to come out because he's fatigued.  He's one of the richest players in the game and he needs to be in the game, not catching a breather on the sidelines.  I don't care what he's done in the past and neither do the Redskins, they are only making sure their investment pays dividends.

This isn't a power struggle on either end, this is simply a coach wanting the best out of his player and settling for nothing less and a player who thought he was in shape, but not in as good a shape as he needs to be right now.
