Eagles budding second-year wideout Jeremy Maclin was carted off the field with a hyperextended left knee today. Jeff McClane of the Philadelphia Inquirer provided play-by-play Tweets. According to receiver Hank Baskett, Maclin’s injury “killed the mood”, prompting coaches to end practice early. Maclin needed help walking from the cart into the locker room. No word yet on the severity of the injury. If Maclin, for whatever reason, is unavailable, the Eagles would likely turn to possession receiver Jason Avant.

UPDATE: Maclin was able to walk out of the locker room under his own power. He had a sleeve over his knee and said his foot got caught in the ground.

UPDATE II: Derrick Gunn of CSNPhilly.com reports that Maclin's MRI revealed only a bone bruise. There was no ligament or structural damage. No timetable yet for his return.

Mane I hope it's not dat serious, hopefully a bruise or something to that magnitude, for the Eagles will be fast this year, and if the defense can hold up, we shall be all right. as for being in the cellar, NOT....

This makes NO sense.  Remember what?  That McNabb's contract was going to be up after this season...that the Eagles would not have resigned him anyway?  That they would have been fools to give him a long-term extension?  That they would have been even more ridiculed if they had let him walk as a free agent and gotten nothing?

McNabb was great. I'm a big fan, and I give him a ton of credit for putting up with a lot in his years in Philadelphia.  I know exactly what the Eagles had.  I'm certainly not stupid.  But there comes a time when you have to move on and start looking at the future...why not now when the quarterback has gotten older and his contract is freakin' expiring?  THAT makes complete sense.

Donovan Mcnabb was picked 2nd  in draft next yr they got a 6, after that they never picked higher than 13th. So from what I see, you went from bottom dwellers forever to a good team for years because of Mcnabb. It is a shame Philly fans are too stupid to know what they had. But you got what you wished for, and remember it when you guys are cellar dwelling for a while.

Did they ever say what happened to Jackson?  This is just the beginning of the McNabb curse.  Eagles will have 50 years of losing seasons and will forever regret they let him go.

Actually to tell you the truth it is close to Philly and there are much more Phillies/Eagle fans then Yankee/Mets/Giant fans.  Def pretty relevant... and come on Cherry Hill "arm pit" status do you even know what you are talking about? Wow talk about knowing what you are talking about...
