Eagles budding second-year wideout Jeremy Maclin was carted off the field with a hyperextended left knee today. Jeff McClane of the Philadelphia Inquirer provided play-by-play Tweets. According to receiver Hank Baskett, Maclin’s injury “killed the mood”, prompting coaches to end practice early. Maclin needed help walking from the cart into the locker room. No word yet on the severity of the injury. If Maclin, for whatever reason, is unavailable, the Eagles would likely turn to possession receiver Jason Avant.

UPDATE: Maclin was able to walk out of the locker room under his own power. He had a sleeve over his knee and said his foot got caught in the ground.

UPDATE II: Derrick Gunn of CSNPhilly.com reports that Maclin's MRI revealed only a bone bruise. There was no ligament or structural damage. No timetable yet for his return.

And another mets fan crawls out of the woodwork.. What is there not enough time the day to watch your team quit and tank again....pathetic. Whats the excuse this year? not injuries? LMAO!

Can you fit anymore bandwagon teams in your profile. Your missing the Lakers. NO credibility!

What was so bad about how they handled McNabb? Just wondering your opinion on it cause the way I look at it they went above and beyond by sending him to Washingtion ( a team in there division ) Most teams won't do that. They could have traded him to Oakland. That would have sucked for him. I think they treated him pretty fairly once the decision to trade him and move on was made. What did they do in their handling of the trade that you found so wrong?
I really hope Maclin is ok. I think he is going to have a BREAKOUT year. He and Kolb seemed to have a nice thing going in those two games Kolb started last year. Losing him for an extended amount of time would really hurt both there development and kill the Eagles offense.
Here's hoping it's nothing serious. Anyone hear anything about Jackson's status? I haven't heard a thing and as far as I know he could be back already but I haven't had a chance to see what's up with that.

I hope it isn't serious for his, the Eagles, and most of all my fantasy team's sake.

But seriously, first Jackson now J-Mac? They still got Celek I guess. I was surprised Reid ended practice though.

Ok, lets break from the BS for a moment - granted the entire NFC East hates each other ... and Phils & Mets have no love lost for each other either, but  ...

That being said, there are plenty of enticing storylines [in NFC East] as we approach the new season - will there be 'harmony in Big D, can Kolb handle starting QB job, can McNabb get Haynesworth to run 300 yds, will a Giants defense resurface, etc., etc. - we do not need to wish pre-season injuries on anyone !

Is there anybody else that thinks maybe doing a 2-a-days in 95 degree heat might be having an effect ? Would have to think this would increase your chances of being a step slow at any moment - and thats all it takes for a zealous rookie to steamroll you. I realize these are premier athletes, but this weather has been extreme!

Iggles would be hard hit by a significant Maclin [or even moreso Jackson] injury, but WR is a position of some depth.
