Patriots defensive end Ty Warren, one of the most solid, underrated players in the game, could be lost for the season with a hip injury, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss. Warren has a labral tear (similar to what Yankee Alex Rodriguez had a while back). It is not career-threatening, but if surgery is required, Warren would be shelved for 2010.

If Warren, one of the premier run-defenders in the game, goes down, the Patriots would likely turn to another Warren: Gerard. The former Brown/Bronco/Raider is not experienced in a 3-4 scheme, but he has been challenging veteran Mike Wright for playing time all offseason.

On Tuesday, defensive line coach Pepper Johnson talked to Reiss about Warren’s value to the Patriots. "The things that he does for the people around him and us, it goes unspoken," Johnson said. "He is a strong character in the locker room. He is a strong character in our meetings. He's a stand-up guy. He's a guy that if he misses a play, or if he blows a play out there on the field, he stands up and says 'that was me and that's not going to happen again.' You can't have enough of those type of guys out on the field."

UPDATE: The Patriots have put Warren on Injured Reserve, ending his 2010 season. They have also reinstated end/outside linebacker Derrick Burgess, which means the veteran is not retiring after all.

UPDATE II: Warren explained his decision to Tom Curran of CSNNE.com: "It was something that I wanted to get done -- that I needed to get done. I've been laboring around for about a year-and-a-half. The season's too long to be taking shots all year, to feel OK one week and feel bad the next. To have arthritis and not be able to be me. I'm going to sacrifice one year for the next couple."

Granted, I accept there is a certain degree of in-sensitivity....However, you forget we live in AMERICA.  Where we have FREEDOM OF RELIGION (and the freedom to practice it as we see fit)  To dis-allow them to practice their religion as they want, is UN-American.
Freedom of religion is granted....freedom where practiced is not guaranteed. People against it are trying to influence the decision. Their elected official however, doesn't reflect their values.

Fear not opponents. The premise of the mosque being built is to promote tolerance so there's a rumor that someone wants to build a gay bar adjacent to it...you know....to promote tolerance.

Oh and Warren, Bruschi emphasized how important his role was for the linebackers. Expect a youthful rotation of MLB's flying all over the field.

I dont live in New York so its not my problem.  Anyway, how does a terrorist attack and Warrens injury get put in the same sentence?  Oh, thats right a dumbass chowderhead stated it.  I digress.

It was YOUR dumb*** comment that started the whole mess. He was responding to a lowlife who made a veiled comment, cheering an injury to a player playing for the team you hate.

What Kingratt said was stupid, but your original comment was equally as dumb. But I guess we have to expect that from a clod whose reputation on here is 49 after almost two years of membership. That tells me the only time you post something is to trash some one or some team you hate.

The differences: Make fun of/criticize someone on these boards: result: you get flamedMake fun of/criticize "politically correct protected groups": result: get labeled a racist or have a group like the ACLU try and sue youMake fun of/criticize most religions: result: People laugh about it.Make fun of/criticize Islam: result: there will be a price put on your head and your days are numbered as Van Gogh found out.
I'm not religious, being agnostic. But you can't go on asking people to tolerate your crap, then call people who are not Islamic "infidels" and go after them. Can't have it both ways, hypocrites.

Spygate was bullsh*t.....
Everybody who knows football knows it was bullshit....

But if it makes you feel better about whatever crappy team you have the misfortune of being a fan of, you can believe in spygate, santa, toothfairy, the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, or whatever other nonsense you need to to deal with your crappy, pathetic life.

Thank Ray Rice and LeRon Mcclain for this

He never recovered after they ran all over him for three hours in January.
