Could the biggest holdout story of the year, that of Darrelle Revis remaining absent from Jets' training camp, be coming to an end? If you believe one side of the reports, then yes. CBSSports.com's Pete Prisco just sent this tweet : "Revis close to deal, according to reports. Shocking? Players don't miss game checks. How many times can I say it?"

Tim Cowlishaw of the Dallas Morning News has been saying all week that Revis and the Jets will have an agreement by, roughly, Wednesday night.

Tuesday, Dan Graziano FanHouse jumped in the fray :
It's been a weird couple of days trying to make sense of the Darrelle Revis contract negotiations with the Jets, but one source close to the situation told FanHouse on Tuesday that the star cornerback's long-awaited contract extension with the team is "almost there" and could be finalized and announced in the coming days. We'll keep you posted...

UPDATE: ESPN's John Clayton and Chris Mortensen are both refuting the story that a meeting between Revis' people and the Jets is taking place Tuesday night.

Dizzle, you are full of it ! The Pats D is a year older and with the guys we added in the draft, plus Brady, Moss, Welker and a host of WR and TE talent, the Pats will contend for the AFC East crown again. The Jets, meanwhile, will watch Revis grow lazy after signing his new deal. And their aren't enough balls to go around on offense. Santonio Holmes won't even play until week 6. Tomlinson is a shadow of himself. Braylon will revisit the dropsies and Sanchez will suffer the sophomore jinx. All the while, Rex will be pacing the sidelines, screaming for doughnuts and tryong to figure out how to keep everyone happy. Which he won't.

You're defense is swiss cheese and very wet behind the ears!  Mr. Gisele can't do it all, sorry...
I agree about the Dolphins though.  If the Jets don't get Revis locked up then they finish second in the AFC East behind Miami. With Revis it's onto the big dance for my boys.
Patsie fans get ready to pick up the scraps in the east with the Buffalo Bills!

You guys are dumb if you think Ryan's defensive scheme is what made Revis. The only reason Ryan can do some of these crazy blitzes is because he has confidence that Revis can shut his man down. There is no better corner in the league right now.

Remember you have Moss, plus Chambers is in your division now, pay the man.

You are definitely bugging out with that one and I'm not even a Jet fan.  Miami will give more competiton than those has been Pats but neither are gonna stop the NY Jets.
