Ian Rapoport tweets that the Boston Herald is reporting that a contract extension for Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is “imminent”. The terms are said to be three years, $58 million.

Pro Football Talk says that Brady and Patriots owner Robert Kraft spent time together over the weekend in Cape Cod. (Big weekend for AFC East owners visiting financially-dissatisfied superstars).

Brady is set to make $6.5 million in 2010. If he signs the offer on the table, he’ll be a Patriot through age 36.

UPDATE (11:22 a.m.) Adam Schefter of ESPN tweets, "Aware of Brady-contract talk. But two knowledgeable people say reports of deal being in place are 'inaccurate" and "wrong'. We'll see."

Who cares how the deal is structured...All Tom Brady wanted was to be paid comparable to Peyton and Eli Manning. If Eli Manning is worth 16 mil ya'll don't think Tom Brady is worth 19 mil? Seriously?

Go Patriots

He wanted to be paid as a top-2 QB.  He absolutely deserves it

Report: new contract for Brady is "imminent"

I think the biggest payday to date for Brady has been in the $5M / year range. This contact is long overdue.

even if it is a signing bonus he will still be paid an avg of 19 million a year based on the deal just some will be up front.

I think Ian Rapoport (is that Michael's brother?) must have something confused. As much as it pains a Steeler fan to say such, Brady is a great QB - but not $19.3M a year great. Maybe a huge chunk of that $58M, say like $15M, is in the form of a signing bonus or something?
