Vincent Jackson to the Vikings?

Anyone who saw the Season Opener Thursday night knows the Vikings need help at wide receiver. Bernard Berrian is clearly a No. 2 option; Percy Harvin, at this point, is clearly a No. 3. Yet, with Sidney Rice out, Berrian and Harvin are masquerading as the No. 1 and 2 receivers.
V. Jackson (US Presswire)
Friday, Henry Lake of KFAN tweeted that help could be on the way for Minnesota. Lake’s sources are saying the Vikings could make a play for disgruntled Chargers wideout Vincent Jackson. The team has not yet confirmed or denied Lake’s report.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that an unnamed team worked out a one-year deal with Jackson last Saturday, but that a trade with the Chargers could not be worked out. Saturday, Florio wrote, “Though all concerned persons and entities are keeping quiet on this one, we've done some digging and we believe that Lake is right -- and that the Vikings are the team that nearly traded for Jackson last week.”

Jackson is scheduled for a hearing in New York in five days to determine whether he will miss three games or six games if he’s trade from the Chargers. The NFL has suspended him three games for his multiple DUI arrests; the Chargers suspended him an additional three games for his holdout. The hearing will decide if the Chargers’ three-game suspension must hold up in the event that a trade occurs. If the suspension does hold up, that could compromise a potential trade (and, ostensibly, make A.J. Smith wonder if he was wise to take the hardball to that level).

Vincent Jackson to the Vikings?

Vikings are betting on their aging team and even older QB Brett Favre to get them to do something this year in a last ditch effort after last year..

Does this surprise anyone?  They even turned to Javon Walker despeartely, who is like an even worse version of T.O. with his ego and his "prime" long behind him..

Forget team affiliations and it does bring up the question of what the hell where the Vikngs doing after training camp cuts and why they didn't hit the waiver wires or try for a trade from the start though..

Did they not have any kind of plan...?  Where they to worried about Favre?

Who knows..

Vincent Jackson to the Vikings?

First, Sidney Rice isn't out for the year. Even if he were, this is quite a character move. So much for Chilly getting rid of the collection of bad seeds like the Love Boat idiots. Will be interesting to see how long before Jackson is caught with an open container on a dark, frozen highway in Minnesota in winter.

Vincent Jackson to the Vikings?

The Vikings don't need Jackson. Favre needs time to get that old tailgate in gear.

Vincent Jackson to the Vikings?

With Sydney Rice out for the year, they desperately need a true #1 receiver.  I can see a deal getting done quickly especially if they stumble at home and lose to the dolphins in their next game, if they do not sign him before that.  Furthermore, they should be getting camarillo more involved he is a favre possession type receiver he needs when they double visante his go to guy now.  Berrian can't catch consistenly and harvin is more of a flashy type with plenty of speed who needs more time to develop into a nfl #1 receiver.  They need to make the deal happen for this guy it may salvage favre from having a mediocre season if he makes it that long.

Vincent Jackson to the Vikings?

I agree Favre should go back to mississippi and enjoy his kids and grandkids...he is a hall of famer...i would hate to see him get hurt or hurt this team's chances for a shot to get back to the playoffs.  He has had a great career..however, when its time its time.

Vincent Jackson to the Vikings?

What the Vikings need is a younger, less egotistical QB who'll show up for training camp and be able to throw downfield 20 or more yards more than twice a quarter. He'll kill the season before the play-offs if Bratt plays like he did Thur. night.

Vincent Jackson to the Vikings?

You want people to make up their minds?

Are you doing satire? It's not clear.

Are aware that your name itself is an indicator of the inability to choose the correct word usage; either regarding or regardless of.

While I hate the self appointed grammer police on the web, that is truely funny.
