NFL investigating Jets' 'frat-boy' locker room

Over the weekend at Jets practice, there was some noise made about a potentially awkward situation whereby Jets players and coaches were, for lack of a better word, harassing a female reporter from TV Azteca.

Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post mentioned it a couple of times on Twitter, and Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk was informed by sources that the Jets were -- with said TV reporter present -- "acting like frat boys."

Apparently, the reporter went into the locker room and was essentially treated to cat calls (or something close to it) and was "embarrassed, to the point of being close to tears."

Clearly, the NFL wouldn't be thrilled with this behavior, and sure enough, they're investigating it, as NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed to CBSSports.com that "the Jets and our office began looking into it as soon as we learned of it last night."

If the Jets did indeed behave as was reported, you can expect Roger Goodell to take this matter pretty seriously. He's stood by reasonably quietly while the Jets, ahem, swagger has let them become one of the most talked about teams in the NFL.

When it comes to something that could border on sexual harassment, though, you can bet the NFL won't sit idly by.

Wow, didn't know so many hoochies and homos followed football. If Goodell does something it confirms he's a knob-guzzler...

Look I don't condonbe what they did but I'm sure this was not her 1st Rodeo and if she doesn't get thicker skin she should go into another line of work. These guys are walking around with no clothes on and she is getting upset about what they are saying. My goodness who has the advantage here she could have easily said something about there their manhood that would have turned the tide in her favor instead she goes and cries to someone about how embarressed she felt get a grip lady, do your job and get out of there . I think you gave them powqer when you let them see they were getting to you grow a pair and just do your job if you can't go to the WNBA and see what nasty things those women will say to you. I don't think we would be having this conversation if this was a Man in the Womens locker room.

She actually said later that she was surprised at the smallness of the black athletes. She said" Revis was as small as my pinkie". I think she just broke your myth.

I don't know about typical Jets fans, but, you are right.  As our society continues to "dumb-down", can we not refuse to recognize, reward, and re-evaluate immaturity?
I would say, in a general sense, that professional athletes (even golfers) have the most insecurity about their sexuality than any other general group in western culture.

being attractive and dressing accordingly

Thing is, she probably dressed in a way that made them do that. if she was dressed professionally, problem solved, but from the look of her in those pics, she was probably wearing that showed off her tits and ass. She's asking for it in a locker room with around 100 guys. It's like the girl in your class that wears the low cut tanktop just to make you look at her boobs hanging out, but then she snaps at anyone that looks at them. Don't show it if you don't want it to be seen; don't dress in a way that is going to make guys whistle at you and talk to you based on how you look.

Gotta love all the comments here - 50/50 mix between the haters & the "men" whose wives are reading their post over their shoulders.

Love the usual comments about Ryan's mouth and weight from the former & the estrogen coming from the latter.

Have a great season everyone - let the games begin!!!
