Jason Davis became a semi-celebrity on Hard Knocks. If you don’t recall, Davis was the Jets third-string fullback who couldn’t get practice reps ahead of veteran Tony Richardson or The Terminator, John Conner. Davis’ pride and frustration made for some great viewing. He told HBO he didn’t give a s*** about where he was on the depth chart. In another scene, he refused to take snaps. (To be fair, Davis tweeted moments after the show ended that he had an ankle injury at the time.)
When Mike Tannenbaum cut Davis at the end of the show, the fullback told the GM that if he comes back with another teams, he’s going to stick it to the Jets, and that’s just how it has to be. Tannenbaum loved that, saying he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Well, Davis may not be getting a chance to stick it to the Jets directly, but he might get a chance to stick it to someone. With Leonard Weaver suffering a devastating knee injury Sunday, the Eagles, according to our CBS Rapid Reporter, are taking a close look at Davis.
