Doug Gottlieb (who, by the way, is a really nice dude and was fantastic enough to do a podcast with myself and MDS in the middle of filming SportsCenter segments right as March Madness started two years ago) had Jim Mora, Jr., on the radio today (he was filling in for Colin Cowherd) and asked him about -- duh -- Michael Vick, who Mora coached in Atlanta.

Gottlieb was curious if Mora thought that Vick really "bought in" to everything while he was in Atlanta (specifically becoming a pocket passer) and if it could have made the Falcons better (and saved Mora's job) and things got a little bit heated. Eventually, Mora asked Gottlieb "Dude, is this your first interview?" Gottlieb also asked Mora how people in Philly "should feel" about Donovan McNabb and, well, Mora didn't like that either. Good times!

Jim Mora doesn't like Doug Gottlieb's questions

we are all spoiled??? are you stupid?  to be spoiled you actually have to win the championship at least ONE time. i like don, dont get me wrong, but he didnt get it done, bottom line. it was time to move on.  spoiled??? i still cant believe you said that.  until the phillies won the ws in 2008, philly was the city with the longest championship drought that had all 4 major sports teams.  it was 25 some odd years. thats spoiled huh.  and if we are just talkin about football, the birds have NEVER won a sb, w/ or w/o mcnabb.  us, spoiled? na. you, stupid? absolutely

I have been a Falcons fan since Ive known what football was... I didnt like Mora as a coach and would like that to be known. The part about Vick was what started this. When Gotleib said he coulda saved yoru job I think that really set him off and after that he would gave him attitude if he asked about anything. Vick didnt have nearly as many weapons in ATL when he was the QB there. Vick was hands down best athlete in the league and had one target at the time that could handle his fast hard spirals....Crumpler. And look at Crump now. Roddy White was a rookie and second year and dropped everything, and Jenkins never formed... Whether he was a 300 yard passer or a 300 yard runner it doesnt matter... He was a great leader and did what he could to win games. He has a good winning percentage as a starter and I always knew when he had weapons to throw to he would amaze people. Now look at him, with DeSean and Jeremy Mac and McCoy, those are some great athletes. That makes Vick alot more confident and he runs second when he has too, makes him alot more dangerous. The best year so far in Vicks career was the year as a QB was with Dan Reeves as coach, until this year. So as much as I didnt like Mora as a coach I can understand the attitude. He hit a button and gave it back to him. And as for McNabb, if the fans boo him they are all idiots! Best thing that happened to that football program. Brought them all the success except a SB and I think they are all spoiled... They need to stand up and cheer, have some class!

Jim Mora doesn't like Doug Gottlieb's questions

@Grograns - I don't agree, Mora dodged any question that seemed to involve his opinion.  Even Gottlieb answered the question that Mora evaded on how people should feel/react.  That same question was asked today by almost every sports reporter.  Yes he tried to push Mora into answering the questions...  Questions which involve a history I think Mora is trying to forget.  And all Gottlieb was doing was pushing him to answer the question.  That is what you do during interviews.  And it was pretty finny, especially at the end.
