The Texans @ Raiders game will be blacked out Sunday. This marks the ninth-straight blackout for the Silver and Black.

The Seahawks @ Rams game is also facing a blackout, despite the Rams coming off a home win against the Redskins.

The Cardinals @ Chargers will be blacked out (fans apparently aren’t eager to see Derek Anderson throwing to Stephen Williams). This is the second blackout in as many home games for San Diego.

The usual blackout suspect – the Jaguars – are NOT blacked out. The Jaguars sold out for the third time this season. They have benefitted from an attractive schedule. Jacksonville welcomed Tim Tebow and the Broncos to town in Week 1. Week 3 offered Michael Vick and the Eagles. This week, Jacksonville fans get to see Peyton Manning and the Colts.

UPDATE (2:22 ET): Rams Rapid Reporter Ron Clements says, thanks to four major corporate sponsors, the Rams have avoided a blackout for this Sunday after all.

Blackout report for Week 4

The Jags sold more new season tickets than any other team (they started in a hole).  The Jags have not "sold out" any games.  The Jags sold enough tickets to avoid blackouts.  I think it would be fair to say the "usual blackout suspects" and include the Raiders. Over the past few years the Raiders are as bad as the Jags.  The blackouts in Tampa only started this year.  However, the Bucs ownership bought up enough unsold tickets all throughout last year to avoid blackouts; otherwise, they would be a usual suspect as well.

Agree commonsense - our special teams are rank w/o Osgood. But 4-0 after 3 games - that's probably giving the guy a little too much love !

Blackout report for Week 4

You are missing a very important aspect here!   was foolishly allowed to leave... he was the leader in special teams and sorely missed. AJ Smith should have paid Kassim what he's worth to stay expecially in light of the Vincent Jackson drama.  If charges had Kassim they would be 4-0 right now IMO.

As long as Norv Turner remains the head coach of the Chargers, fans can expect to see this trend continue. Bring back Marty!

Give them time. See who shows up later in the season when the Jaguars start playing crummy teams.

And I assume by "usual suspects" the writer was referring to last year, when the majority of Jax home games did not sell out.

And I find your claim that the Jags sold the most season tickets in the NFL laughable.

Do you really think they sold more than Pittsburgh, or Chicago, or New England, or Indianapolis?

Blackout report for Week 4

As I Chargers fan, I feel I must point out that not all of us dislike AJ Smith. We have a good team, we're just not playing well yet (again). Missing Vincent Jackson and Marcus McNeil is not the real problem, its poor play by the Special Teams unit. I am not attending the game, but that is because I'm saving my money to go to the Raiders and Patriots games here in San Diego. I dont have the budget to go to every game so I have to be selective. The Cardinals, as an opponent, just don't make the cut for me.

Fans Holdout on AJ Smith

I think it's the right thing to do.  As much as I dislike the Chargers, this is the one thing the fans can do to show AJ Smith that they don't like what he is doing.

I realize a big part of the lack of ticket sales has to do with the economy, but that's all the more reason for Smith to get the best possible product on the field so when fans are being more selective about where they spend their entertainment dollars.

The Jaguars rule and you suck.  Tampa has the highest unemployment rate in the country.  Go Noles!!
