Andy Reid announced in his Monday morning press conference that Michael Vick has a rib cartilage injury in his upper ribs near the sternum, but no broken bones.
Running back LeSean McCoy wasn’t as lucky. The second-year pro fractured one of his ribs. A broken rib is said to be one of the most painful injuries an athlete can suffer.
McCoy’s injury actually occurred in the first half, but he played through it. (And played through it quite well, amassing 64 yards rushing and 110 yards receiving).
Reid is taking a “wait and see” approach with Vick. He doesn’t know if the Eagles will bring in another quarterback (which means he doesn’t know if Vick will be available to play Sunday night).
