Jake Delhomme was activated Sunday against the Falcons after being out since Week 1 with an ankle injury. When Seneca Wallace, who was the surprise starter that game, got sidelined with a sprained ankle of his own, Delhomme came in off the bench and threw a pair of interceptions. (To be fair, one of Delhomme’s picks was simply a spectacular play by Falcons defensive end Kroy Biermann.)

Turns out, Delhomme did not come out of Sunday’s loss unscathed. Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the veteran quarterback had his ankle sot up before the game, and that he re-injured that ankle during the game. Delhomme now has a high AND low ankle sprain. Cabot also says that Wallace’s ankle injury could be the “dreaded high sprain”.

Though it’s far too early to say for sure, it’s possible Colt McCoy could start at Pittsburgh next week. Or, if McCoy is as raw as observers say, perhaps it’s possible we’ll see the Browns rely on Josh Cribbs and the wildcat. Really, given the way the Steeler defense has played, does it even matter who takes the snaps?

Why not play McCoy this week regardless?  Look, I know it's only Week 6 and anything can happen, but it's pretty obvious the Browns arent going to be a playoff team this year.  That's not to say they should just throw in the towel and forfeit the rest of the way, but why not give McCoy a chance if he truly is going to be the quarterback of the future?  Will the Browns get killed on Sunday with him in the game?  Absolutely.  But he'll get to experience firsthand playing against the Steelers defense, something he'll have to do twice a year from here on out if he stays with the team.  So give him the practice now so that he's better equipped to play a good game in a year or two when the Browns might be in contention.

If the Browns want to win in this league, they should make it certain that Jake Delhomme never takes the field.  He is a disaster waiting to happen.  He never met an opposing defensive back that he didn't like throwing to.

Senaca gives the Browns the best chance to win right now. If he cant go, we might as well see what Colt can do.
agree, Wallace has impressed me so far, he's been better than i thought he would be.
Obviously Delhomme is washed up and should retire. He isnt very mobile when healthy and with a bad ankle he is a detriment to the team.
Jake is what he is, that's why he isnt in Carolina, now i know Carolina hasnt looked great on offense, but the reason for that now isnt the quarterback, it's the recievers. When Smith is the only guy teams are afraid of, that shows how much the passing game isnt going to work. the Panthers were dumb to not get Shipley or sign Antonio Bryant.

At least Delho-mo's ankle is tore up, too.  Saves me the trouble of doing it.  He is so terrible, he should not be allowed on the field.  Whoever pushed for signing him should be flogged, and possibly fired.  The team is functioning (relatively) well under Wallace.  If we can get him and Hillis healthy, we will at least be a tough out for any opponent.

That way the Browns can figure out if he is the QB of the future or if they need to draft another one or make a trade.  Obviously Delhomme is washed up and should retire. The Browns should just give every play to Hillis next week.  That guy could run through walls.  I hope Seneca comes back, he was a breath of fresh air from Delhomme.  I saw him on the sidelines and thought to my self, "Come back in seneca, i mean you have your helmet on! come back in please!!!! Delhomme sucks!!"  Delhomme is awful, the browns would have beaten Atlanta if it weren't for delhomme.  Two INT's and a fumble in barely over a half of play?? wow, you suck delhomme.  His fumble prevented the browns from scoring a TD on third down when they were on the one yard line, and his Second INT gave the Falcons defense a td.  So he takes away a td for the browns and gives it to Atlanta.
