On Sunday night, a curious decision to overturn Visanthe Shiancoe's 17-yard touchdown from Brett Favre midway through the second half, following a Mike McCarthy challenge, cost the Vikings four points and theoretically the game.

The NFL admitted on Monday that overturning the touchdown call was the incorrect move.

Brad Childress, who called the game the "worst officiated" he's "seen in a while" afterwards, told reporters that the NFL informed him the replay call was incorrect and that Carl Johnson, the head of officiating, was "disappointed" that the replay decision was made.

It was pretty clearly a catch, too -- though the ball did make contact with the ground as Shiancoe dove into the end zone, he had possession throughout the entirety of the catch. Unfortunately, the NFL can't retroactively give the Vikings an additional four points, so they remain stuck at 2-5 with a superstar quarterback limping around in an ankle brace as they get ready for a trip to New England.

Sometimes 1 or 2 play can change the games, but usually a loss result from a number of things done incorrectly by the losing team. For example I'm a bears fan, but throwing 4 interceptions can hurt,  receivers that didn't even make a play for the ball.  Farve threw a interception returned for a touchdown.

I agree the officiating was terrible last night and in 3 other games I watched on Sunday. The reality of the situation is that the players are to fast for the officials to keep up with hence all the replays. They are constantly a step late and out of position . But.....last nights game was lost by Childress who needs to be fired ! Once again, too many men on the field(penalty), didn't challenge Pack touchdown, running a draw under a minute in the middle of the field, not giving Moss and Farve a chance to end the 2nd quarter..the list goes on and on. Childress can manage a gameplan like a kindergartner can manage a checkbook. He cannot adapt to the game situation at all. He has a team full of All-Stars and can't win ? In every other professional sport your shown the door...and don't let it hit you in the "arse" on the way out !  C'mon Ziggy....make the change !
