Merriman also could find himself on waiver wire

Not only will Randy Moss make an appearance on today’s waiver wire (we’re all pretty sure about this, right?), Chargers LB Shawne Merriman very possibly could join him.

As Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer reports, Merriman will take a physical with team doctors today. If he passes, he’ll be waived. If not, the Chargers will have to continue to pay him until he does pass the test.

Merriman Merriman – who’s been dealing with a calf injury after holding out for part of training camp – is on injury reserve with a minor injury designation. That means, the Chargers can release him and Merriman can play for another team this season.

It’ll be interesting to see what kind of interest Merriman – who, Glazer reports, still has about $1.7 million remaining on his contract this season – commands. He is, after all, a three-time Pro Bowler who led the league with 17 sacks in 2006. And he’s still only 26 years old. But the word on Merriman is that he’s lost his explosiveness, and since he’s so injury-prone, that might make potential suitors wonder about his long-term durability.

Either way, we’ll soon find out.

Wjat other "juiced up' team mates are oyu referring to Vegas?  I wouldnt start calling out players for "cheating behavior" considering your beloved Patriots are known as the Cheaters of the NFL.

Merriman also could find himself on waiver wire

It's a sad day for Charger supporters. Such promise from this young guy essentially thrown away by a lack of maturity stemming all the way back to Merriman not agreeing to the recommended surgery on his knee and instead he opted to try to rehab it only to go under the knife 1 week into the season. He irreparably damaged his knee, lost his explosiveness, and has now lost his job and consequently his chance at redemption and that massive payday he sought. Yet another wasted #1 draft pick for the Chargers.

Shawne Merriman was messing with Tila Tequila. Miles Austin was messing with Kim Kartrashian. Neither of them have had the best of seasons. Any questions ?

I don't want to hear about Reggie Bush and Kartrashian. It was Reggie's time. He was a late bloomer.

When you "juice' since college I guess it will take its toll..., lets face it he was explosive and several of his other "juiced" up Chargers teammates were as well, 26 got his money now he can go on to broadcasting and Tila Tequila has beens...whats wrong with that??
