Don't think that all this "election business" can keep us from talking about sports, people (but, hey, seriously, vote or die). Thanks to Jon Runyan, the former Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman, we can have our cake and eat it too.
You see, Runyan won a spot in the House of Representatives, as John Adler, Runyan's opposition for the New Jersey seat, called the former NFL'er before 10 PM EST to concede victory.
CBSSports.com spoke to someone at Runyan's headquarters to confirm the news, and the the Governor of New Jersey is introducing Runyan now.
The lesson as always? If you're a famous and popular athlete, you get to do fun stuff even when you're done playing sports. Although, as Heath Shuler proved, you don't even have to be popular to pull it off.
