D. Brees
Kenny Wilkerson of WIST-AM radio is reporting that the New Orleans Saints are hiding a significant injury to Drew Brees. Wilkerson says Brees has a fracture and torn meniscus in his left knee.

Brees suffered what was described as a mild knee sprain early in the season. He’s been wearing a brace but has not missed any action.

Wilkerson says his source is “impeccable” and that his report is “100 thousand-trillion-million percent” accurate. He even went so far as to suggest that Brees will need Microfracture surgery after the season. (Though this has to be considered mere speculation at this point.)

Brees has been a tad inconsistent at times this season (he leads the league with 11 interceptions), though no one has suggested that he looks like his knee is bothering him. With this rumor now swirling, you can expect that will change.

UPDATE 3:00 pm ET:
Props to our Saints Rapid Reporter Larry Holder for passing this along:

Coach Sean Payton called the report of Drew Brees having a fracture and torn meniscus in his left knee "inaccurate." "It's not right," Payton said. "Completely. False. This week, he's without the brace, sleeve or anything." A league source also said Brees laughed when he heard the report.

MNsportsFREAK, are all Vikings fans as big of a crybaby as you are? Your team lost in the NFC championship and then lost the 1st game of the year... Move on and quit crying.

Great A - -Hole... why don't you tell every defensive player in the league where to hit him! The injury stuff is just wrong... I know you are trying to make it look legit, but this type of reporting is no good for anyone...

Report: Brees has fracture, torn meniscus in knee

The Chargers had some of the toughest qb's in history - Unitas, Fouts, Humphries, Brees, Rivers.  And all you can come up with is Ryan Leaf.

The Leaf drafting is the ALL-TIME worst NFL player deal. He made Akili Smith look like Peyton Manning. And when you think what they actually gave up in the process (2 first round and a 2nd round draft pick), nothing else compares. I hope their GM was fired for that one.

And to Steelrfan.  (Original moniker btw - something like Raiderzrule - you guys are trite and jaded).  Are you are measuring qb "toughness" by Superbowl trophies, or exploitation of young drunk women in bar restrooms?  You probably fluctuate with that measuring stick being your one of "those people."  No class and same old cliche argument.

100 thousand-trillion-million percent accurate?  I guess Brees won't be able to give a quadzillion percent next Sunday
