It doesn't necessarily excuse Channing Crowder for losing his mind after Sunday's game at Baltimore, but for what it's worth, it appears the Dolphins linebacker wasn't lying when he said Ravens fullback Le'Ron McClain spit in his face. Take a look at this (and thank you to Jeff Darlington of the Miami Herald for passing this along):

It will be interesting to see how the NFL disciplines McClain for this.

Video backs up Channing Crowder's accusations

Yeah, I saw it and it certainly looks pretty bad.   The only thing is they were doing the headbutting thing beforehand and that was the same motion sans the spit; something to consider.  I think my post raises a possibility(since the accused spitter denies) but stops short of concluding one way or another. That's all.  Not sure I should be judged a  "dolt" or what is going on with you that inclines you to diminish me(someone you don't know) with personal attacks for offering a different viewpoint for the sake of discussion; even if wrong.  Lighten up.  Cheers.

Video backs up Channing Crowder's accusations

Has anyone considered the possibility that while he may have spit, it was not a purposeful, malicious act?

Have you considered maybe watching the video, you dolt?  He rears his head back and spits right in his face.

Karma is Biznatch!!

I like the Dolphins.  I live in South Florida, so although they are not my favorite team, I am in tune with what is going on with the team.  I am also a Gator alum, and I am disappointed to admit that Channing Crowder is a fellow alum.  Anyone who is familiar with the personalities of the Dolphin players knows that Crowder not only lacks maturity, but he is possibly the most "ghetto" player in the NFL (aside from Ray Lewis who will knife a brother if he gets out of line at the club and Vick who will string your dog up if he is not mean and vicious enough).  Geesh, you know what I take that back.  There are lots of "ghetto" players.  Perhaps I am looking for another word.  Anyway, you should see Crowder's comments in the local paper and magazines.  He comes off as such a low-life immature sexit senseless dummy.  Why is it that guys like Donlad Driver, Champ Bailey, London Fletcher, Rhonde Barber, etc. are not getting spit on?  It is because they have class and maturity.  No player is going to dare do that to guys of that ilk.  But, when you act a fool, stuff like this happens.  It's called Karma and it is truly a mother. So, Crowder... get over it and get back to smoking your brains out and play Madden 24/7 like you did in Gainesville every day in the dorms my man.

Has anyone considered the possibility that while he may have spit, it was not a purposeful, malicious act?  People spit when they talk.  I certainly have been accidentally "spat" on by friends who were laughing or excitedly telling a story.  Of course it gets a reaction but that does not mean it was done on purpose.  And, that they were in a tense moment probably goes a lond way towards Crowder is saying it was purposeful.

Granted the video is grainy especially when enlarged, but I have yet to see anything coming out of McClain's mouth.  Yes his head bopped forward in what could be either a "spitting" motion or a "head-butting" motion.  But, if you can't see spit you must acquit!

Does it matter?  No. Fine McClain and move on.  Sometimes I swear people cover the NFL like its a soap opera.

really? you have a hard time believing and official would miss it? watch Crowders arm right after the head jerk he immediatly wipes at his mask. If he did not spit what did he do? As far as the refs missing things, They miss holding on 85% percent of the plays ran in both directions. The Official in the Eagles game claimed Coleman hit Collie in the head yet seven replays show it was the shoulder. Refs have too much to look at and cant see everything so its not a knock. Also Crowder said immediatly McClain spit. Why would he make that up or how so fast? Spitting in someones face is a disgaceful act and honestly he should not play again because he obviously isnt a real man (if he did it). I would feel the same my friend if it were Channing Crowder spitting in McClains face. You can read some of my posts and blogs about teams I support to know I NEVER look at anything biased. I understand what you are saying and proof IS difficult because you can't actually see spit, but if he did it, its disgraceful. Great Game by Baltimore. I wish we could win game as a good team! lol

The Dolphins need some Cheese.....Not Tough..... They schooled your behind Karlos.... Crowder looked like a fool the entire day being throw around like a little rag doll.....Paper Bag defense and poor offense will leave with a loss every single time...

The Ravens came into a fight and the Dolphins came to M&T with thier tails between thier legs the entire day.....  End of it Karlos....you gave up 26 points and could only manage 10....the score board does not lie....

Kudos to Cam Cameron 82 points in three matchups against the Dolphins.....
