Unbelievably, Lions QB Matthew Stafford’s career has hit another huge speedbump. One that might keep him out for the rest of the season.

According to Mlive.com’s Tom Kowalski, Detroit fears Stafford might be lost for the season after preliminary tests showed his shoulder injury to be a Grade 3 separation.

Considering Stafford suffered a Grade 2 separation in the season opener that kept him out until Oct. 31, a Grade 3 separation is certainly not a positive diagnosis.

Stafford Kowalski quoted Stafford speaking on a Detroit radio station on Monday evening: "I've got to talk some more with these doctors and kind of figure out what they're thinking. It's kind of frustrating to be coming back and, two games later, be knocked out again. We'll take it day by day and figure out what the plan is.''

According to the story, Stafford will seek a second opinion by noted surgeon Dr. James Andrews.

This is the fourth time in the past two years that Stafford will have to miss time with an injury. Strange, because he says he never missed a game in high school or college because he was hurt.

To replace him, the Lions will look to see if Shaun Hill (forearm) can be ready for Week 10. Hill played pretty well in replacing Stafford the first time this season until he was injured, but he’s still unable to take direct snaps from a center at this point. If he can’t go this week, Drew Stanton likely would get the starting nod.

And then there is Sam Bradford. Look at where the Rams were last year. There the only NFC West team that got better and I hope they take it.

As bad as the NFC West is, that rookie Ram QB looks pretty good to me. I think the Rams have a shot at winning that division. They are the only team in that division who is a lot better than last year and they deserve it.

I know about the injury to his shoulder, but when did he get bitten by the snake?
Was the snake poisonous?
