Good news and bad news for the Redskins backfield. The good news is, Clinton Portis is back after missing the past five games with a groin injury. The bad news is, Portis’ replacement (both injury replacement and, likely, long-term replacement) Ryan Torain is out with a hamstring injury. Torain missed the beatdown from the Eagles after re-tweaking his hamstring in pregame warmups.
Nobody noticed, but Keiland Williams actually wound up rushing for over 100 yards against Philadelphia, so it’s possible that Portis could be returning in a backup role against the Titans this Sunday. But the more likely scenario is that the bruising veteran will start and see 12-18 carries.
