Roy Williams: 'I lost the ballgame'

Roy Williams appeared to have clinched the Cowboys come-from-behind victory against the Saints on Thanksgiving, with a long run after catching a pass from Jon Kitna.

But as Williams was pulled down near the Saints end zone (with the Cowboys leading in what would eventually become the ultimate example of a moral victory) and stripped by Malcolm Jenkins.

The Saints eventually won the game, 30-27, and afterwards, Williams took the blame for the loss.

"I lost the ballgame," Williams said. "I'm accountable for what I did. Put it on me. I let my team down."

This is where it would be nice to point out that Williams couldn't do much, that Jenkins made a great play, but that's really not a fair assessment of what happened.

Jenkins did make a great play, but it's 100 percent on Williams to hold onto the ball in that situation and, as he put it, "put the nail in the coffin' on the Saintsgiving parade.

Roy Williams: 'I lost the ballgame'

Roy Williams was not on the field when New Orleans marched 90 yards down the field for the go-ahead touchdown. Sure the game might have turned out differently without the strip, but ultimately the porous Dallas defense lost the game.

Ladyboy lose again

The Ladyboys are playing better? They have not done nothing. They beat the Lions and the Giants, no big deal. They always find a way to lose. One play does not blow the game. Winners win, ask the Jets. The Ladyboys and their bandwagon can go away now. I was tired of them being considered a "darkhorse" playoff team. The Bucs, Saints were 7-3 going into this week and the Falcons 8-2. Those teams would have to fall badly (not to mention having the Ladyboys having to win every game left) for the ladybays to be playoff bound. Barber and Felix "I was picked ahead of CJ because I went to Arkansas like Uncle Jerry Jones" Jones are average backs and if Dez is so good why is Williams in the game? "America's Team", more like "Quitter's Team". Jones will always be chasing Jimmy's shadow. He could not handle the credit JJ got winning the SBs. If he would have let JJ stay maybe they could have put 5 in a row down. This is a act, I was at the Four Seasons when Jimmy and Jerry were there and everybody was trying to pat Jimmy on the back and did not even know who Jerry was. That is why the Ladyboys fired Jimmy. Jerry's ego will always screw the Ladyboys.

to allpronola...you sound like a racist faggot

I love it. Condemning someone for being a racist and in the same sentence using a slur against someones sexual orientation. Would have been funnier though if he replaced faggot with honkey or cracker-ass-cracker. T
hats how they roll in Texas I guess.

pimpslapped is right.  Roy Williams is an average receiver having an average year.  Jason Garret is clearly inequipped to run an effective offense with these personnel.  The Cowboys were an over-hyped team this year, plain and simple.  Placing the blame on Wade Phillips or Jason Garret is okay to a point, but realistically, the defense has played poor, the best QB they had (Tony Romo) made crucial mistakes in high pressure situations, and the team is either unwilling or incapable of running the ball -- despite everyone pointing out how talented the three headed monster of Felix Jones, Marion Barber and Tashard Choice is.

Roy Williams: 'I lost the ballgame'

Roy Williams was just the victim of a great defensive play. He did not lose this game, Jason Garret did. Roy Williams has actually played pretty decent this year. They have a good WR corps, decent QB (when he returns), good TE. The dead weight performance wise and emotionally is Barber, half the O-line, and the majority of the secondary. That said, Garret screwed up an opportunity to win on three separate occasions. The 4th and 1, the punt instead of a FG attempt, and the decision to throw on 3 consecutive attempts to get into FG territory for the tie with timeouts and Felix Jones running well. Kitna missed Bryant 4 times on a 10yd out, so I gues trying again with the game on the line makes since. This was a choke by Garret, not Williams.
