Late on Monday night, amid an embarrassing loss to San Francisco, Derek Anderson got caught laughing with lineman Deuce Lutui. In his postgame press conference, Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic asked him why he was laughing (and Somers actually tweeted about asking him before the presser). Anderson's response was straight out of a Coors Light commercial and we've got video.

Here's the transcription for those that are curious:
"It wasn't funny. I wasn't laughing about anything ... Okay, that's fine. That's fine. That's fine. That's fine. That's fine. I'm not laughing about it -- you think this is funny, I take this f----- serious. Real serious. I put my heart and soul into this s--- every single week. I'm just telling you what I do right now what I do every single week! Every single week I put my freaking heart and soul into this! I study my a-- off! I don't go out there and laugh! It's not funny. Nothing's funny to me. I don't want to go out there and get embarrassed in front of everybody. I'm telling you right now -- Deuce and I were talking!"
Somers then tried to ask another question and Anderson just yelled "I'm done!" and stormed away from the podium.

I would have told him to "mind your own Fkn business pal, you can quote that sh!t". Where's the barb at Lutui. How convenient there is none. ANYONE that sides with a weasel reporter probably sits around gossiping regularly about friends, family, and coworkers like little p***** and needs to be neutered. It's the only reason someone could be blinded by the blatant attempt at getting a rise out of another. Your man card please!? >holds out hand<

Derek Anderson tirade is all kinds of funny

It is CBS that is all kinds of funny (or pathetic, or petty, or insecure, or...).

You put up a "transcript" of what Derek Anderson said... Well, actually, no you didn't. You left out the "Monday Night Football" part of his quotation.  How lame is that? I know this is not the New York Times, but come on, if it is not a transcript you are posting, then at least have the integrity (read "b***s") not to call it that. You guys are so incredibly insecure.

In the video all I saw were a few seconds of a slight grin on Anderson's face. It sure didn't look like he was "yucking it up," so to speak. The reporter is defiitely the tool here, and what I hate most is the stupid Twitter update. I can see it now..."Eveyone gather round your TV for the press conference to hear me! I'm gonna prod Derek Anderson about something irrelevant!" Reporters need to get over themselves.

Well, it was going great when he said "what we talk about is not your business. It hasn't funny."That was the first thing he said and then the 2nd was"I wasn't laughing at anything."
Man....why did he say that? If he stuck to the 'Its not of you business" route, he would be fine because its true. Obviously laughing isn't really want you want to see there, but maybe the other player was trying to keep him loose for the next drive or for the next game or "Well, you certainly played better than a number of players tonight: JaMarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf, Betty White from those Snickers commercials." An attempt to make him feel better and let him know his team is still behind him for 5 more games.
At the end of the day, while 'I was not laughing' is a weird reply --> 'None of your business, Next.' would be fine and the report pressed. Thats crap and unprofessional. Sanchez eating a hot dog is MUCH MUCH worse and that was laughed off and funny around the crap. BS. Leave the man alone.

Derek Anderson tirade is all kinds of funny

What is it with the Cardinals and press conferences on Monday Night Football?  2006 gave us Denny Green's assessment of the Chicago Bears and now Derek Anderson gives us this jewel.  I was waiting for him to say, "The 49'ers were who we thought they were.  That's why we took the damn field!"  Sadly, this snoozer of bottom dwelling teams will have no one's azzes crowned. We did see the rebirth of Brian Westbrook after Frank Gore's demise.  Still, a bad game all around.  Next Cardinals game, one lucky fan will have his or her ticket announced on the PA to play starting QB.

You have to be kidding me, zball. Kent Somers was not antagonizing Derek Anderson. That was a legitimate question and Anderson reacted like a spoiled child.

Everything you said about Somers is actually true of Anderson. Anderson needs to be held accountable. Somers could write a story about how insecure Derek Anderson is, easily. Anderson proved he is a little punk with a smart mouth, and there is no excuse for his behavior. Yet another proud moment for the Cardinals.

That was a dumb question. Anderson handled it correctly.

I also likes how he says how hard he prepares and how much he busts it on the field... If you really prepare that well, it's going to show. If you don't, it's going to show.

Anderson doesn't know what preparation is. The only thing he prepares for is going to the bank to cash that weekly check from disappointed fans who come to watch a train wreck every Sunday.

Anderson is a clown. He had just turned the ball over, and he's sitting there with lineman chuckling it up... If I were the reporter, I'd ask him what he thought was funny too.

If I am Wisenhunt, Max Hall gets the start next week. No more lolligagging around with this QB that is too laid back to care.
