Late on Monday night, amid an embarrassing loss to San Francisco, Derek Anderson got caught laughing with lineman Deuce Lutui. In his postgame press conference, Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic asked him why he was laughing (and Somers actually tweeted about asking him before the presser). Anderson's response was straight out of a Coors Light commercial and we've got video.

Here's the transcription for those that are curious:
"It wasn't funny. I wasn't laughing about anything ... Okay, that's fine. That's fine. That's fine. That's fine. That's fine. I'm not laughing about it -- you think this is funny, I take this f----- serious. Real serious. I put my heart and soul into this s--- every single week. I'm just telling you what I do right now what I do every single week! Every single week I put my freaking heart and soul into this! I study my a-- off! I don't go out there and laugh! It's not funny. Nothing's funny to me. I don't want to go out there and get embarrassed in front of everybody. I'm telling you right now -- Deuce and I were talking!"
Somers then tried to ask another question and Anderson just yelled "I'm done!" and stormed away from the podium.

He should have answered with "Stop talking to me, all right?  Knock it off!"

As I look at Anderson smiling on the bench and seeming to be enjoying a joke with a team mate I see nothing wrong.  Just maybe Anderson is responding to a team mate trying to take some pressure off.  In other words I do not know what was being said and if he does not want to talk about it I am fine with that.  The so called reporters/sports journalist are in some case real idiots and this guy who could not get the message Andeson did not want to talk about it, just did not get the message.  Anderson was right to walk off.

Yeah, Anderson makes way too much money for me to feel bad for him. He should be prepared to answer whatever questions come his way, with some modicum of poise and composure. It's not like he was being attacked, or incessantly grilled, he was given a chance to give his side of the story, and give context to the fans that still believe in him. Instead, he gets all defensive and makes himself look like a damn fool.

"Sports "reporters" are idiots.  Just because you flunked out of journalism school doesn't make you special.

These guys trying to get the inside sccop on  players emotions after a game is just stupid."
You say that just because you wish you could do it, StreetRat, and your last sentence is why you can't. Trying to get the inside scoop on players' emotions is what separates a good reporter from a great one.

"I would have told him to "mind your own Fkn business pal, you can quote that sh!t". Where's the barb at Lutui. How convenient there is none. ANYONE that sides with a weasel reporter probably sits around gossiping regularly about friends, family, and coworkers like little p***** and needs to be neutered. It's the only reason someone could be blinded by the blatant attempt at getting a rise out of another. Your man card please!? >holds out hand<"

You just insulted about the entire Cardinals fan base. The support is overwhelmingly for Somers over Anderson.

He should have ended it with "Now I'm done" like his former teammate Brady Quinn in that commercial!

"I would love to see this and all other reporters lives and conduct put under the microscope reporters put the lives and conduct of others under."

Go ahead and put a tail on me. You'll be very bored.

To be fair to the reporter, there is no way in hell that Tom Brady or Peyton Manning would ever be seen giggling on the sidelines while their team is getting whipped.

So CBS Sportsline still has the "transcription" posted here. Hmmm, you guys cannot even type "Monday Night Football" into the quotation! How petty and gutless of you. It's a joke. You're a joke. The video clip contains it, but you won't print it. Do you know how small and insecure that shows you to be??
