Late on Monday night, amid an embarrassing loss to San Francisco, Derek Anderson got caught laughing with lineman Deuce Lutui. In his postgame press conference, Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic asked him why he was laughing (and Somers actually tweeted about asking him before the presser). Anderson's response was straight out of a Coors Light commercial and we've got video.

Here's the transcription for those that are curious:
"It wasn't funny. I wasn't laughing about anything ... Okay, that's fine. That's fine. That's fine. That's fine. That's fine. I'm not laughing about it -- you think this is funny, I take this f----- serious. Real serious. I put my heart and soul into this s--- every single week. I'm just telling you what I do right now what I do every single week! Every single week I put my freaking heart and soul into this! I study my a-- off! I don't go out there and laugh! It's not funny. Nothing's funny to me. I don't want to go out there and get embarrassed in front of everybody. I'm telling you right now -- Deuce and I were talking!"
Somers then tried to ask another question and Anderson just yelled "I'm done!" and stormed away from the podium.

I could care less what Anderson and Lutui were talking about, the one thing I am sure of is that you wouldn't see Peyton Manning or Tom Brady laughing at all if they were getting thumped on Monday night Football or anywhere else for that fact. This nig nog is supposed to be the leader of this team and leaders don't laugh when they are getting schooled by a subpar football team like the Niners.
Bottom line here is that this guy is a bum. He misses open receivers, throws picks, can't read defenses and if the Cardinals had ANY other veteran QB on the team this guy would be benched...or released. Cleveland may not be the greatest franchise but they knew what they were doing when they let this tool go.
Hey coach Wiz..........Somewhere in Texas Matt Leinhart is laughing his a** off right now. Well I guess we can look forward to a good draft slot next year.

I agree... Dropping Leinart made zero sense.

I would rather roll with a horribly questionable Leinart rather than a new entry and unheralded Derek Anderson.  Furthermore, I would rather go with Leinart than a complete hail mary of a hope in Max Hall.

But, back to the point at hand... That tirade was not "All kinds of funny."  It was mildly amusing.  Maybe a chuckle at best, and that was only due to DA's inarticulate reply to the guy's question.  But yes, that reporter was doing what reporters do.  Being an A-hole and scratching at a minor itch, trying to make it a horrible scab.

WILL BRINSON:  People like Kent Somers and obviously yourself need to show some common courtesy.  Derek began by saying basically that what is said between he and another player is between the two of them.  Somers kept pushing the issue, and pushed and pushed until Derek, who was obviously frustrated and didn't want to be there (I don't blame him AT ALL), appologized to the other reporters who have character and left.  Deuce probably mentioned something that made Derek smile amidst the disappointment, which is what we all do when things aren't going someone's way.  The cameras happened to be on them for some reason at that moment and an idiot like Somers figured he'd point out something that had NOTHING to do with the game or the team.  Now you, Will Brinson, take the lead from Somers and project this incident in a way that makes Anderson seem like a jerk.  Idiots like you make the media into the falsifying bunch of crap it is.  Don't call out someone who just got embarrassed on national TV, you won't like the response.

This is inane. So the guy was laughing at one point. Big freakin' deal. It doesn't mean he isn't taking his job or the situation seriously. We all sometimes laugh when we're having a bad day. Laughing in these situations is a defense mechanism and coping mechanism. As the saying goes, sometimes you gotta laugh so you don't cry. That said, imagine the fallout if a NFL player got caught crying! lol

Took the words right out of my browser.Wisenhunt made a mistake dumping Leinhart for this guy.  I am not saying Leinhart is all world or anything but Derek Anderson first year in the system over a guy who at least watched someone run it to near perfection....really??

@ KLM11,
Anderson works his ass off and is one of the better players on a horrible team.

Interesting.  This sounds like a person trying to pick out the tallest midget!

GoBrowns,
I like what Mangini is doing in Cleveland.  McCoy is a winner.

I'm glad we got rid of the bum! Give Mccoy a true # 1 receiver and Browns will be competive!

 - that's right. That's exactly what the "reporter" did. And how about his stupid Tweet vowing to "get to the bottom of this," as if he's Woodward or Bernstein chasing down a corrupt world leader. He not only knew he was going to bait Anderson after the game, he told us he was going to bait Anderson after the game. And over what? He SMILED! That's it! This team lost Boldin, Dansby, Rhodes and a HOF quarterback, but everything is Anderson's fault?
