Report: Gradkowski has separated shoulder

Bruce Gradkowski and Jason Campbell have flip-flopped as the starting quarterback in Oakland all season. That might be coming to an end though, as reports indicate that Gradkowski has a separated shoulder.

That's according to Steve Corkran of the Contra Costa Times, who cites a source claiming the MRI on Gradkowski's shoulder will reveal a "third-degree separation."

Cable wouldn't comment on the status of the injury yesterday, because the team was still awaiting the MRI results.

However, if the report of the separation is true, it's all but guaranteed that Gradkowski will miss the remainder of the regular season. The shoulder he injured against the Dolphins is the same one he injured earlier this year, which caused him to miss four games as Campbell (temporarily) established himself as the starter (again) in Oakland.

This news isn't good for Gradkowski, of course, but it might be for the best as far as the Raiders' long-term quarterbacking situation goes -- they can give Campbell five games to try and make the best out of the rest of their season. If he fails, perhaps they'll have a better lead on what to do in the future. And if he succeeds, he can always just get replaced by Gradkowski again next year.

Report: Gradkowski has separated shoulder

Are there really arguments on who should start for the raiders at QB? They all equally suck! End of discussion. It doesnt matter who starts! Im a Raiders fan that regretfully will admit it. Maybe Rich Gannon will come out of retirement? LOL

Report: Gradkowski has separated shoulder

'Campbell should have been playing anyway.' No way. '3 and out' Campbell has looked horrible lately. Go back and review the Raiders vs Seahawks game and you will see that if you take away one pass to DHB Campbell's day was an utter failure. Campbell also looked horrible versus KC, his last two passes saved his day, but the first of those last two should have been picked off but Ford saved the day and ripped the ball away from the receiver. And on his final pass, if it were not for Ford's speed it would have feel incomplete. Campbell's long passes float and are usually over thrown.  Gradkowski did not look good on Sunday, and I think Bruce is a&nbs
p;better QB than Campbell, but that is not saying much.  Campbell reminds me of JaMarcus Russell, just a little better. But again that is not saying much.  The Raiders need to draft a QB next year, because there current stable of QB's is only decent at best. Right now, Boller is our best option.

Report: Gradkowski has separated shoulder

So reporters are now paying off hospital staff to get info? I wonder if Gradkowski was playing while injured? He looked horrible and I suppose this may have been the reason. Did he not tell anyone? Did Cable know? Why wasn't Campbell in the game? Regardless of Gradkowski's injury status, Campbell should have been playing anyway. But the call was made by Cable to start Gradkowski. This was a horrible move which may end up costing the Raiders a shot at the playoffs. Cable is a moron who deserves to be fired. We need a real coach.

I hope Al still has a good relationship with Jim Harbaugh - we need him...
