Multiple media outlets are reporting that former Cowboys quarterback and popular Monday Night Football announcer Don Meredith passed away Monday. He was 72.

“Dandy Don” played nine seasons for the Cowboys. He was a three-time Pro Bowler and the 1966 NFL Player of the Year. The Cowboys inducted him into their Ring of Honor in 1976.

Successful as he was on the field, Meredith may be remembered most for his role alongside Howard Cosell and Frank Gifford on Monday Night Football. His signature was singing "Turn out the lights, the party's over" once the game’s outcome appeared to be decided.

I'll second Magnum's sentiment.  While I can't comment on watching him as a player, I remember him most ly in the booth and from events.  Sorry Cowboy fans, tough loss.
