Fisher seemingly on shaky ground

Bud Adams has some decisions to make regarding Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher (US Presswire). Posted by Josh Katzowitz

Every day, it seems like Titans coach Jeff Fisher is closer and closer to becoming the fourth coach this NFL season to get the pink slip.

While Tennessee owner Bud Adams has been more than loyal to Fisher – even though his teams have had more non-winning seasons than winning seasons in his 16-year tenure – you have to wonder if Adams’ patience is running thin. And if he could, gasp, actually choose to keep QB Vince Young with the squad and get rid of Fisher.

"I am not too happy right now, I'll tell you that," Adams told the Tennessean . "But I think it is too early to talk about it. We have three more games to go and I'll be able to talk a lot better after those three games. We'll go up to the end of the season and then I'll make my decision. I am not very pleased with what has happened here, though. It's not what I had in mind.''

Assuming Tennessee doesn’t make the postseason this year, it’d be the fifth time in the past seven seasons the Titans didn’t earn a playoff berth.

One positive aspect for Fisher: Adams doesn’t hold him responsible for the injuries to Young and backup QB Kerry Collins, and he understands that playing rookie Rusty Smith wasn’t exactly ideal.

"You can't blame (Fisher) when you don't have your key guys playing,” Adams said. “But I have to look at the whole picture and what has been happening since we have been in Nashville, what our record is, where we stand in the league. That is important.''

For the record, Fisher’s record with the team is 141-118.

,

Vince:
In his first four NFL seasons (2006-09), amassed a 26-13 regular season record as a starter. His .667 winning percentage qualified as the best regular season winning percentage in franchise history and the fourth best among quarterbacks drafted between 2000-2009 (Brady, Rivers and Roethlisberger).

Remember 2009, 0-6 with Collins, then 8-2 with Young? Also remember that Fisher was against pulling Collins.

Yeah, Fisher's a genius.

How can you say that Adams has not supported Fisher. He has been with this team for 18years and 16 as a head coach how much support does he need. It is a shame  that a coach has been with a team for so long  and only has 6 winning seasons how long do you want to waite. Now you want to say the it is the players and leadership well the last time I checked it was the head coach who is the leader. Oh and now it is the QB. VY has had 4 coaches and now one wants to say all these bad things about the guy. The only drama I see is from a coach who needs to move on find a new team.

Know your facts before you post.  The Titans are in the Top 3rd in the league regarding payroll.  The disruption of the team's unity is the result of Jeff Fisher's actions, not Vince Young.  The Titan's collapse should be evidence of who the heart and soul of this team is.....VY!  But for some reason you think it's Fisher?  If it were, they'd be better without Vince than with him.  Over the last 7 years, Fisher is 21-43 without Vince, and 30-17 with Vince over that same period of time.  It's amazing to me how people can continue to make excuses for the obvious.....the Titans are terrible without Vince Young, PERIOD!  The proof is in the pudding.  You can explain it away all you want, but the facts are in the win column.
