Randy Moss is now a bench warmer

One of the biggest stories in the NFL last week went largely unnoticed. Heading into Thursday night, we wondered if Kenny Britt’s return to the Titans lineup (Britt had missed the past month or so with a hamstring injury) would force Randy Moss to the R. Moss (US Presswire)bench. Though Moss has had a minimal impact in Tennessee this season, it seemed inconceivable that the future Hall of Famer wouldn’t start.

Well, not only did Moss not start – he didn’t play in the three-receiver sets, either. Moss was the Titans’ fourth wideout behind Britt, Nate Washington and Justin Gage. Credit Jeff Fisher for having the gall to do what’s right. At this point, Moss, with his stiff route running and declining acceleration, is indeed Tennessee’s fourth best receiver.

In the days following the game, there was talk about the Titans designing packages that would get Britt and Moss on the field together. On Monday, however, Jeff Fisher seemed to dump a little cold water on that idea.

“We’ve got quite a few of our guys that know all three positions,” Fisher said, according to the Tennessean. “Kenny’s just been focused on the one position at the split end. So it really would be a result of Kenny being able to go out there without any issues and play both positions.

“But again, I would say (getting them both in the lineup together) is a possibility. I didn’t say we’d definitely do it.”

The reality is, there’s no reason for the Titans to play Moss at all this point. He likely won’t be around next season. If they’re going to design new receiving packages, they’re best off putting their focus on getting young, ultra athletic tight end Jared Cook more experience in the slot.

And to think most of the young generation look at him as if he's the greatest receiver ever.  Hahaha!!!!  He doesn't even deserve to hold Jerry Rice jockstrap.  Never again should I read a thread about how he's better than Jerry.   Talented=Yes.....Heart=Hell No!!!  But that describes most of the players these days.  Lower the salaries and you might weed out all the athletes that are just in it for the money.  Owners should begin to start to put strict guidelines on contracts that state if a player decides to quit or not give it his all, then he gets his money taken away.  It's just that simple.

El_D: You should have dropped him off your roster a long time ago. There were way too many WR to pick up over this guy. Obviuosly you dont know how to manage a FFB team. Until you learn to do that, you will always loose money.

Fantasy guy is funny. You should have know Moss was a spoiling fruit before the season. If you watch the games and match ups there are always somebody that can get it done. Don't draft names draft points. I lost 2 WRs & 2 RBs early to injury and had palmer at QB. I still wired together enough players to be 2nd in my league going into the playoffs. Look at the guys in your league that got Hillins, Lloyd, Blount, Vick (who was probaly not drafted in your league, as well as Orton) and a few other no names at the being of the season and you will see the guys that make a good run at the $$$. Fantasy is all about the threads and matchups. Just play attention and you would not be crying about Moss. I bet I could join your league and take picks in the first 4 rounds and then not pick another player until the after the draft is over and atleast put a playoff team together. This players don't let you down, your lazy #$% does.

Funny how the only reason you dislike him is because of Fantasy Football.  Wow, what a football fan you are.....

Obviously you sir...are not a gambler since you don't understand. This worthless pile of monkey spunk cost me three wins this year. I would have been in the playoffs and would have made some money.

Is is Word of Reason or Word of Redundancy?  At first I thought I just drank too much last night, when I read the same post four times in a row, and then I realized that you did or someone laced your cigarette.
