A case of mistaken identity

Giants coach Tom Coughlin has said he’s going to keep rookie P Matt Dodge on the roster, despite a season that hasn’t exactly been stellar (including, you know, punting the ball to Eagles WR DeSean Jackson, who returned it for a last-second TD that became one of the highlights of the entire NFL season).

You know who probably hates that move?

Matt Dodge. No, not that Matt Dodge. The Matt Dodge who’s not an NFL player and the one who’s been dodging hateful messages on Twitter.

From the NY Post:

Messages from angry fans sent to the wrong Dodge included, “You need to go into witness protection… NOOOOW!!!!” and “You better run run.”

Upon noticing the onslaught of unkind remarks, the non-punting Dodge wrote, “Woah, just got hella twitter spammed thanks to that gawtdamn NY Giants punter, also named matt dodge. Think he'll buy my account?”

But one Giants fan quipped, “I know this isn't the #NYGiants punter @mattdodge but do you want the job???”
