In a move that seemed almost preordained, Brett Favre has been knocked out of the game with a head injury, and the Vikings have ruled him out for the rest of the game.

On the first Vikings series, Favre looked good, throwing a 23-yard TD pass to Percy Harvin to give Minnesota a 7-0 lead. Overall, he’s 5 of 7 for 63 yards, a score and an interception.

But midway through the second quarter, Bears rookie DE Corey Wootton break through the line of scrimmage, wrapped up Favre and threw him to the ground. Though Favre landed on his left shoulder, his head also hit the turf.

Rookie Joe Webb has entered the game at quarterback.

MGD, either you are real slow, real stupid or just a plain moron... I am no where close to being a Favre fanatics but to say his consecutive game streak is not impressive shows that you probably never played the game at any level higher than Pop Warner... Anyone who knows the game and has played the game knows that starting that many games, over that period of time is amazing and shows what a warrior/iron man he is.... If it was so easy to do, there would be a lot of other QB's that have done it... Drew Brees, Brady, etc are no where near that streak...  He made an NFL record 297 consecutive starts (321 including playoffs). For you to act like starting every game for 18 and half seasons is not impressive, you have to have eaten a lot of lead paint chips as a child....

Now I am sick of all the retiring, unretiring, etc but I have to give credit where credit is due...

Favre out of the game with a head injury

We'll read about him sitting in his wheel chair in a couple of years, drooling.  And the scribes, the pundits will all kneel before him in a circle once more.  The only question is who will get the money shot.

Favre out of the game with a head injury

These are all Farve antics.  He has finally realized the blatant fact that he can't play the game anymore, so now he's playing this "tough guy" warrior game.  How many games in a row is this guy going to get knocked out?  Can he injure anything else?  But now, in pure Farve schtick, he'll keep coming back game after game until the finale, where he wants it to be this Hollywood ending of him limping out on a broken leg, concussed, shoulder wrapped, and leads his team to a miraculous victory (or some crap like that).  Well Brett - won't happen - this is real life.  Farve isn't the oldest QB to ever play the game - especially not the oldest player.  Hell, Vinny Testeverde was still around a few years ago taking hits - he didn't get injured on every one.  It's tough to say if this is Farve acting for attention - but if it is real, then Farve really isn't the "iron man" you guys think he is.  Iron men don't get hurt everytime they get hit.  I don't care about his consecutive game streak - really not that impressive - other than the fact the old fart played so many years.  When was the last time Brady missed a game hurt?  Or for that matter Drew Brees....yeah they're QB's, not RB's........here's to Brett in a wheel chair throwing picks!

Favre out of the game with a head injury

Get off this guys jock.

Yes he was great at one time, not any more. Part of being a great is knowing when you are not the best option for your team. This guy has screwed over 2 franchises now to feed his own ego. You call him a warrior for wanting to play every game, I call him a selfish idiot for hurting his teams chances. Know when to walk away brett and stay down you OLD, EGOTISTICAL man.

A true hero and role model beacuse the man is so egotistical he doesn't know when to quit?  Or a true hero and role model because he sends pictures of his privates to other women behind his wife's back?

I agree with you '725 I too got tired of Favre and his little drama queen antics,(will he retire or not?) The man really has nothing left to prove. A Super Bowl win, numerous records, and a sure Hall Of Famer on the first ballot. Let's just hope he doesn't end up like Jim McMahon in ten years!

Say what you will about him, the bottom line is: Brett Favre is one of the toughest bastards to ever play the game. He's a warrior and I'm honored to have watched that man play football the past 20yrs.
