Shaun Ellis getting sued for snow throw

Back in December 2008, something crazy happened at Quest Field in Seattle.

It snowed.

Oh, and the Seahawks beat the Jets in the snow and the Seattle fans screamed at the Jets players as they left and Shaun Ellis picked up a giant chunk of snow and lobbed it into the stands.

Seems like forever ago, right?

Well, perhaps it hasn't been that long -- one of the people who claims to have been hit by that chunk of snow, Robert Larsen, is suing Ellis, according to TMZ.

Larsen is supposedly claiming he "has suffered physical injury, humiliation, mental distress, pain and wage loss" as a result of being hit by a giant snowball after an NFL game.

"I woke up this morning, and somebody texted me," Ellis said, according to the New York Daily News. "I was like, 'OK, cool.' I guess the statute of limitations (hasn't ended). I don't know."

The lawsuit is obviously a bit auspicious, to say the least. Especially when you consider that Larsen claims he was holding a Seahawks sign which, according to the video, would make him the same dude that caught the chunk of snow and then celebrated with it in his arms, which you can see in the screenshots from the same YouTube below. How traumatic.

Shaun Ellis getting sued for snow throw

I hoe this guy wins the Law Suit and if Ellis is smart he will jsut settle for a small amount, him celebrating does not prove anything the fact that Ellis admits the throw puts hi, in jeapordy of criminal charge of assault. What if the thing hit a little kid or a woman in the face. The fans probably deserved it but hey I hate the Jets and hope this cost them both money and embarrassment.

Maybe this incident will help Rex Ryan a foot in his mouth, oh wait I forgot he already does that for enjoyment, now that story and video is priceless. Fat Guys need foot loving too.

Larsen, from a fellow Seahawks fan:

You sir, are a douchebag.  You catch the chunk of snow, celebrate, and claim that it hurt you?  There is documented evidence of the contrary you idiot, as you pump your fist and flex those enormous muscles.  I'm not sure you thought this cunning plan all the way though.  I take enough abuse being a Seahawk fan without money-hungry douchetards like yourself making us a fanbase look like wussy little crybabies.  I hope you get counter-sued for being a fartknocking, wolf-crying faker that got greedy and listened to some horrible advice on how to get rich quick.

Geez ...

I hate the Jets, but even Jet's players don't deserve "fans" like this. Aren't these the same fans who tried to sue the Patriots and Steelers after they lost ?

Maybe the Jets can leave both their cheatin' coaching staff and their legalistic fans behind and go to LA next year !!!

Shaun Ellis getting sued for snow throw

And all these years I've been wondering why I've been suffering from so much pain and mental distress. The snow fort provided minimal protection from the onslaught of snow missiles that day on the school yard battlefield. Luckily for me I still recall the names of the members of that enemy troop from down the street. Thank you Mr. Larsen for helping me identify the root of my trauma. I will follow in your footsteps to seek revenge for the humiliation I endured that day on the snowball battlefield. Do you think I have a case for PTSD? Bye the way...you're a douchebag!

The fan was obviously not hurt and actually seemed to revel in the moment.  To come back and sue the player, smells more of a money grubbing lawyer who was obviously talked into this suit.  Both the lawyer and the plantiff should be fined once the case is thrown out of court.  This right here is what is terribly wrong with our judical system.  You can make somebody go bankrupt just defending themselves and when the later win, they get nothing...but lawyer fees to pay off for years to come.  In my book, if you sue (especially cases like this one), then you should be ordered to repay all costs to the defendent.

Shaun Ellis getting sued for snow throw

I am so glad to hear that you can sue someone over snow.  Having grown up in Western Pennsylvania I was hit with snow every day during the winter for many years.  Sometimes it was just a snowball, sometimes it was an ice ball, and sometimes loaded with rocks. I am going to have about 200 lawsuits.......lol.

If thats the case, I should have been in prison when I was 5 for throwing snow at the neighbor kids.
This is one more thing that is wrong with this country...
