Posted by Will BrinsonOn Sunday, a report emerged that Donovan McNabb wanted out of Washington. This is the least shocking thing in the world, since he was replaced as the starter by Rex Grossman and spending his days as the third-string quarterback for the Redskins.
However, after Grossman ran his lifetime record against the Jacksonville Jaguars to 4-0 on Sunday, McNabb told CBSSports.com's Pete Prisco that there was no truth to that report and that he's content in D.C.
"I don’t know where that came from," McNabb told CBSSports.com. "I know nothing about it."
When informed that McNabb would be the "only one" who would know about the report, the quarterback agreed, but reaffirmed the denial.
"That's right," he said. "And I don't know anything about it."
McNabb might claim to know nothing about his own publicly-expressed desire to get out of the Redskins organization, but the truth is that he'd be insane to want to hang around, given the way he's been treated by the organization (regardless of how he's played).
Of course, that doesn't mean he'd want to tell everyone in the world he hates Washington, particularly when, if they became really desperate, the Redskins could still pick up his $10 million option for 2011.
That seems unlikely, and it's all but guaranteed that McNabb will be shopped for the second-straight offseason after the NFL wraps up its year, but it doesn't mean you'll see a guy like McNabb publicly admit his sincere distaste for his current situation.
