Sounds like Leslie Frazier finally got his meeting with Vikings owner Zygi Wilf. Minnesota’s interim head coach is hoping to become Minnesota’s 2011 head coach. According to Judd Zulgad of the Star Tribune, that could happen as soon as Sunday.

Zulgad says Wilf and Frazier have held serious discussions, and “it is believed Frazier could receive a contract in the neighborhood of three years. Wilf has declined interview requests in recent weeks to discuss the coaching situation.”

The Vikings were 3-7 when Frazier took over. A win at Detroit would give them a 4-2 record under the former defensive coordinator.

It is crazy in today's world we still have arguements over skin color, or gender for that matter.  The most powerful man in the world is a black man.  And if Obama was not in the mix last election, we would almost certainly have a woman president right now.  If we take just a minute to look around, it is plain to see the race barrier and glass ceiling have been shattered.  I am white and went to a high school where I was the minority by far.  I was the first "white" student body president in that school's history.  When will we all start to realize that in our free market, people are judged by performance more than any of the other things we spend so much time fighting about?

Its completely dumb that even if Dallas wants to keep Garrett as their Head Coach for next season, they still have to interview a minority candidate.  Ridiculous.

minority?  Since when have the blacks been the minority in the NFL?    ridiculous indeed.

"filuppers", you're joking right? The NFL requires Teams to interview at least one minority candidate in an attempt to promote more diversity/equality in the league. This was mandated because in a sport where at least 50% of the players are Black, it's a disgrace that less than 5% of the Head Coaches are Black. Please put more thought into your future posts.

They should have to interview a white candidate before they can hire Frazier.  Its completely dumb that even if Dallas wants to keep Garrett as their Head Coach for next season, they still have to interview a minority candidate.  Ridiculous.

Frazier has done a good job and is a heck of a lot more competent than "Chilly". Did someone mention he is black? And a defensive coordinator? Seems like the Vikes offense is running better under him. Seriously...... As far as the debate about the Rooney rule....In many ways it is insulting to minority candidates to be brought in for an interview without a real chance of being hired just to satisfy a rule. I doubt the Vikings ownership was too concerned about the race of their coach....only if the guy is a winner. Clearly Frazier has the respect of his players much more than "Chilly" ever had. Chilly lost it the day he made that airport run to pick up that bumpkin from Mississippi.

This will cement teh Vikes place as the bottom feeders in the NFC North for at least 2 years to come. Boy i hope they hire Mr Rooney Rule.

Good, he deserves a shot.  Seems well liked by the players and has run a good defensive scheme while he's been at Minnesota.
