As the Browns season wound to a close, Cleveland defensive coordinator Rob Ryan was pretty adamant that he’d have a shot at a head coaching job this offseason. Apparently, he was exactly right.

According to the Rock Hill Herald, the Panthers have asked the Browns for permission to interview Ryan as their fourth coaching candidate.

And as the paper shrewdly notes, “He's by far the most colorful of the four identified candidates, a list which also includes defensive coordinators Ron Rivera (San Diego), Perry Fewell (New York Giants) and Greg Manusky (San Francisco).”

Oh thank Christ.  I've thought for the longest time one coach in the league that shoots his mouth off with nothing to back it up is simply not enough.
