Come on, you didn’t really think you’d read the last of these stories, did you? Brett Favre is retiring. And this time, he’s putting it in print.

According to Alex Marvez of FOX Sports, Favre has officially fired his retirement papers. Apparently, Favre got the paperwork done shortly after the conclusion of his disappointing 20th NFL season.

Does this mean there’s zero chance of Favre flip-flopping again? Hahahaha – of course not. Favre filed his papers in February 2009 but was granted reinstatement so that he could join the Vikings. After his tearful 2008 farewell press conference in Green Bay, however, Favre did not file the papers.

The difference between this retirement and the previous two is that Favre is 41 and coming off an injury-and scandal-plagued campaign. But who knows, maybe he’ll change his outlook and view that as “unfinished business” come August.

I hope Packers win this year. Then Rodgers will have won a Super Bowl as a starter before Farve did. Rodgers might not play as long but the way he is going should be best QB Packers ever had. IMO they will win more then one Super bowl the next 5 years. They have great young team. If not for so many injuries they have been number 1 seed this year. Bears are lucky they had those huge amount of injuries that is why they have the game being played in Chicago. That first game Packers had 8 penalties and turnovers and lost 20 to 17. Won't be be a repeat Sunday. The better team wins Packers. Bears can win but will take GB screwing up to do that.

Well he won't be back for Vikings unless they want to waste another season like 2010 was. Time for them to move on. Another team if crazy enough who knows. Farve is done this time since streak is over in 2010 and no reason to come back. His business was finished once that streak ended weeks ago. I don't think he ever wants to play as hurt as he was last year again.

Does anyone else see this as NON NEWS.  Stop reporting this drivel...who cares?  he played 1 year too many and I don't think anyone thought he would or should play another year.  He wore out his retirement press conferences at least 3 or 4 years ago!  Geez report something relevant!
