UPDATED 6:35 p.m. EST: The Ravens have announced that Greg Mattison is headed to Michigan. He will be repalced by secondary coach Chuck Pagano.

----------

Just days after being eliminated by the hated Steelers, the Ravens must find a new defensive coordinator. Multiple media outlets are reporting that Greg Mattison is electing to return to the college ranks, this time as the defensive czar at Michigan.

Mattison had been Baltimore’s linebacker coach before assuming coordinator duties after Rex Ryan took the Jets head coaching job in 2009. Under Mattison, the Ravens became a little less complex and aggressive, though they still ranked third in points allowed in both of his seasons.

As was the case last time they needed a new D coordinator, Baltimore is filling the position with an in-house replacement. According to NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora, secondary coach Chuck Pagano would get the nod. Pagano was a candidate for the Raiders defensive coordinator job. He has been in the NFL for nine years and joined the Ravens in 2008.

maybe they could also hire a coach to teach receivers how to hold on to the ball and keep their mouth shut. Right TJ, Anquan, etc.  The best thing this team could do is get rid of pony tail boy--the ghost of myron cope and the terrible towel will follow this fool wherever he plays.
