Part of the reason for the mass exodus is because college players are afraid of a huge reduction in rookie pay once the NFL owners gets a new agreement in place with the union.  A sharp reduction on rookie salaries seems to be a lock.  Many players are declaring for the NFL in hopes of getting a better contract offer now, than they would next season

Not true.  The CBA Expires March 3rd and the draft happens in April.  If an agreement is in place, by then these players will be subjected to the new rookie pay scale if that is agreed upon.

My understanding is that the CBA does not expire until after the draft.

What IF the NFL and PA cannot reach a deal for 2011 season? Can these college players, go back to college for another year since there will be no draft? I assume there would not be a draft if agreement is not made??? Also, can all college players go back? I think the kids that are maxed out on playing time in college could get hosed like Mike Williams (USC) having to sit out a year.
