CBSSports.com's patented and award-winning 7-point preview gets you ready for each and every playoff game. As a bonus, enjoy our playoff podcast preview:

1. New York Jets (No. 6, AFC, 13-5) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (No. 2, AFC, 13-4)

For the second-straight season, the Jets somehow have risen from a Wild Card team to a squad that will play in the AFC championship game with a chance to go to the Super Bowl. Last year, they fell to the Colts. This year, though, they’re riding a big hot streak, having knocked off Indianapolis and then the formerly-invincible Patriots, and they’re looking for their first Super Bowl appearance since 1969.

The Steelers, meanwhile, are coming off a nice come-from-behind victory against the Ravens last week. Like the Jets beating the Patriots, Pittsburgh exerted a ton of energy, rallying to beat their biggest rival for the second time this season. There’s been some talk about emotional letdowns, especially on the Jets side, but this one is for a Super Bowl berth. An emotional letdown, like Jets coach Rex Ryan would say, is impossible.

2. PLAYOFFS?! Watchability Ranking

Both AFC games last week were great matchups and featured great results. It’ll be hard for this one to top those. Maybe I’m the one who is emotionally let down, but 3.5 Mora Faces is the max rating.

3. Key Matchup to Watch: Jets secondary vs. Steelers WRs

Last week, the Jets shut down the Patriots WRs. New England couldn’t create separation, and at times, QB Tom Brady was stuck holding the ball for 5 … 6 … 7 … 8 seconds before having to scramble because his receivers simply could not get open.

The Steelers will have to do a better job than that. Assuming Jets CB Darrelle Revis – who has dominated Indianapolis’ Reggie Wayne and New England’s Deion Branch so far in the playoffs – matches up against WR Hines Ward, don’t expect Ward to have much of an impact. In the Steelers Week 15 matchup against New York, Ward was targeted only three times and caught two passes for 34 yards.

That means the speedy Mike Wallace will have to be the game-changer for Pittsburgh. He’s had a big season, catching 60 passes for 1,257 yards and 10 TDs in the regular season. We assume Jets CB Antonio Cromartie, also a rather speedy fellow, will attend to him. Thing is with Cromartie: sometimes he’s great, like last week, and sometimes he’s very beatable, like with Colts WR Pierre Garcon two weeks ago.

Hell, Cromartie might be the biggest factor of all. Especially if Ben Roethlisberger tries to avoid Revis and, instead, targets Cromartie. Hey, at least Cromartie didn’t call Roethlisberger an a------.

4. Potentially Relevant Video

If Revis makes Ward somewhat irrelevant in the passing game, the Steelers WR still can be a nuisance on the field. Ask Bart Scott about that this video, featuring Ward’s greatest hits.

5. The Jets will win if ...

They can get big-time production from both running backs, LaDainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene. Tomlinson, after a swoon in the second half of the season, has run well the first two rounds of the playoffs, and Greene has rushed for 77 and 70 yards in the two games. If Greene can inch closer to the 100-yard mark and Tomlinson can average about 5 yards a carry, that would keep the ball out of the hands of Rashard Mendenhall and Roethlisberger for much of the game and bring the Jets a win.

6. The Steelers will win if ...

They can pound and pressure Mark Sanchez for much of the day. Yes, Sanchez threw three touchdown passes last week, but he still has struggled – for the past two weeks – with his accuracy. The Steelers have plenty of defenders (ahem, James Harrison and LaMarr Woodley) who can harass Sanchez and make him have to release the ball too early. Which certainly won’t help his aim.

7. Prediction: Jets 20, Steelers 17

wow notice how most of those ward hits were lunging with the helmet on players not looking. I wonder how many fines he would get from the league for those hits. i would bet none since he is a receiver, yet his own teammate has been find a ton of money for alot less

Magnum, you probably are right about the Jets Defense getting by our Tackles, but youy are crazy when you say Ben gets rattled. Did you see the abuse the Ravens dished out onto him the last two times we played them? The game in December they broke his nose, his foot was messed up, they grabbed his helmet and just hit him over and over again. All Ben did was lead the team to game winning drives both times. I think Ben plays better after being hit a couple of times. Go back and watch some of his games, he starts out slow and then pours it on after taking a hit or two. I'm not saying the Jets can't win, but if you think that is how they do it you're crazy.

Steelers 23 Jets 20.

Steelers vs. Jets: 7-Point Championship Preview

The jets won in the regular season(week 15)22 to 17 and this is the post-season.This will be the second time the jets play the STEELERS and the STEELERS do not lose in the post-season is totally different than the regular season. The STEELERS don't lose a second time that they play a team twice.Remember what the ravens said about the STEELERS.They said they own the STEELERS and they messed up in the second half and STEELERS D-line capitalized on the three turnovers and O-line made the ravens pay for it.Two touchdowns and a field goal to win the game. STEELERS 31 vs 24 Ravens, enough said.Ravens lost and now they are sitting at home watching the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME on there TV.There were more calls by the refs against the STEELERS than there were less calls against the ravens and somebody said that the STEELERS were paying the refs off. That sounds like they are just sore lossers that there team lost and the STEELERS won that game fair. You people that hate the STEELERS are just a bunch of stupid,@sswhloes that are mad that your team did not win there game and are not gonig to the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME and when my team(PITTSBURGH STEELERS)win and go to the SUPER BOWL XLV and win it.That will be there 7th SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP and you can't say that about your team so,you can shut your mouth up,until your team wins alot of SUPER BOWLS then stop hating on this team THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS.I am a STEELERS fan sense 1970's to the day I die. HERE WE GOOOOOOOOOO STEELERS HERE WE GOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! STEELERNATION ALL THE WAY TO THE SUPER BOWL XLV AND WINNING IT. AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: JETS 14 VS 34 STEELERS. NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME:PACKERS 38 VS 21 BEARS. SUPER BOWL XLV GAME:PACKERS 14 VS 41 STEELERS. STEELERS WIN THERE 7TH SUPER BOWL.

Steelers vs. Jets: 7-Point Championship Preview

@josh - I believe the only team that rushed for over 100yds against the Steelers this season is the one this it is facing on Sunday.

Maybe ONE player rushing for 100 yds is not going to happen,  but 2 guys rushing for 50-60 yds each still adds up to over 100 yds.

This game may be the best matchup of the season - should be great but no way is it a blowout (either way). The team that makes the least mistakes will be the winner - look for 1 big play to decide the outcome.

Steelers vs. Jets: 7-Point Championship Preview

Everything lately has been all JETS JETS JETS.  I was unaware that there were so many "Fair Weather Johnsons" out there.  The media cannot get enough of the JETS hype, just like when Obama was running for President.

Do you not realize who they are playing against.  It is not some fly by night, one season wonder, it is the freaking Pittsburgh Steelers.  The team that the other 31 Teams want to be like.

I love all this JETS attention.....I know it is building the shallow egos of the JETS and just making the Steelers more focused.  Keep it coming!!!   Steelers 35  Jets 10

I'll tell you how the Jets win 21-17. We knock Pitt's suspect OT's (Scott and Adams) on their asses and keep Big Ben from having the time to improvise and extend plays. Big Ben is gutsy but is rattled when he takes some shots. I believe the Jets will be in his grill and that will allow the Jets offense to have good field position. I just hope it doesn't come down to Nick Folk. Another Doug Brien vs Pitt choke would be a nightmare.

Steelers vs. Jets: 7-Point Championship Preview

Josh, wow man I love your enthusiasm, but as a fellow Steelers fan I can't disagree with you more. I'll take any victory here. First let's not forget how they won the first game, by starting out with a STs TD. We both know the Steelers not so special teams will give up some good field position to a decent offense. I just hope they can keep their STs from scoring this time. They have an awesome oline. Imagine what Ben Roethlisberger could do with this line. We haven't had a great line for years. Pouncey could be the building block, but imo they need 4 more pieces. Foster is average and almost cost us the game by walking away from a loose ball. Kemo is slightly better than average, but gets penalized to much and has a short fuse. Max Starks is not worth what they pay him, but he is serviceable when he can stay healthy. Colon was improving, but now who knows.

They have a Defense that is no slouch. I'll be the first to admit I didn't think they could beat the Patriots or the Steelers or Ravens. I knew they could beat the Colts, but wasn't sure they would. Back to back AFC Championship Games is a testament to how good they really are. I'd love a blowout so we won't have to hear about the refs, but I just don't see it.

I'll call it Steelers 23, Jets 20
Steelers win off a last minute FG. Jets have 1 minute to score and fail. Let's hope Tomlin doesn't have to challenge two plays in the first half.

Jets fans, if you win I'll be rooting for you 42 years is way to long.
