Speculation about Ochocinco to the Raiders

Could Chad Ochocinco become a Raider? Seems fitting, doesn’t it? Al Davis has never had any problem signing brash individuals, and he’s fond of bringing in big-name wideouts (Rocket Ismail, Randy Moss, Javon Walker).

Many believe that the Bengals doC. Ochocinco (US Presswire) not want to pay $6 million to keep the 33-year-old Ochocinco around in 2011. Statistics suggest that he’s in decline. Chad Johnson once posted five straight 1,200-plus-yard seasons. But Chad Ochocinco has averaged just 806 yards per season over three years.

Numbers aside, the bottom line is the Bengals have not won anything with Ochocinco (besides two AFC North titles, both of which were overshadowed by the team’s ensuing first-round playoff exit) and his diva act is wearing on some coaches and teammates.
So why have the Raiders been floated as a possible suitor? Because of new head coach Hue Jackson. He was Ochocinco’s receivers coach from 2004-06.

Jerry McDonald of the Contra Costa Times did some sleuthing and uncovered these tweets that Ochocinco sent earlier this month (granted, probably not the most challenging detective work for Jerry, but we like the guy’s work overall, so we’ll give him a free tip of the cap here). The tweets read:

“I would not care where Hue Jackson got a job. I would go play for him, run through a wall, jump in front of a bus, etc. u get the point.”

“Man that was the greatest coach I ever had. Hue Jackson would choke me out, cuss me out, just to make sure I was precise on everything.

“It would be refreshing to be with Hue Jackson again. I know I wouldn’t have to worry about being thrown under a bus again.”

The “under a bus” is a reference to head coach Marvin Lewis, who surprisingly opted to return to Cincy in 2011.

LMBO at Bailguy,

Its almost like watching an ESPN version of around the league, just completely opininated and with no facts what so ever. I didn't think someone could cover half the league in just a few sentences. Guess thats what happens when you smoke weed and post a message on here..

Bailguy,

Kudos to you for showing me what incoherant rambling really looks like. Your comments include about eleven words that were on topic followed by hundreds that can only be seen as "blah blah blah". I think you covered about ten different subjects in one paragraph and I've only seen that when I've watched police apprehend crack heads on "Cops". so again Bailguy, thanks for the laugh.

Whereever he goes I hope they give him 84 or 86 so he'll look like an even bigger moron with Ochocinco on his back, which isn't even 85 in Spanish.

Speculation about Ochocinco to the Raiders

Chad has been WASHED up for well over 2 seasons now, Carson Palmer is still shell shocked form that knee injury and is a coward who never regained his pre injury form and most of all, the Bengals Head Coach should be working the parking lot and not the sidelines, Marv Lewisisaperfect example ( so too is the Colts fugazzi head coach in Jim Caldwell,Manning is really the brainsof that operation, and I akin Caldwell to the likes of the old groundskeeper in the Bad News Bears the kids use to con their parents into thinking he is their chapperone...Dungy won because of Peyton, yet he thinks everyone should listen to him because of ???? I do really like the Steelers Head Coach,Mike Tomlin, and wldlove him to cross the state and bump Philadelphia Fats outta his job, but that aint happening....

Why would the Raiders (an up and coming young team) waste their time and money on Chad Johnson? He was good back in the day, but now the only thing he runs well is his mouth. T.O. was a far better reciever this year than Chad Johnson. Trade Chad to Buffalo, so we can see (and hear) less and less of him.
