Jets think Hines Ward is rather dirty

In the debate about whether Steelers WR Hines Ward is a tough, gritty, blue-collar WR who makes hard, but clean blocks on defenders or a dirty, cowardly head hunter, I usually lean toward the former.

I’m pretty sure a wide variety of players – like Jets LB Bart Scott, Ravens S Ed Reed and Bengals LB Keith Rivers, all of whom have been hammered by Ward – would disagree with my assessment.

You can add Jets defensive coordinator Mike Pettine to the list.

“Our guys I think called him the toughest guy in the league when nobody’s looking,” Pettine said, via ESPN New York.

Considering Ward was voted by his peers in Sports Illustrated as the dirtiest player in the league, Pettine’s comment might have some merit. That doesn’t mean the “tough, gritty, blue collar” thing is wrong, though.

“That works for them,” Pettine said. “He’s kind of the spark that gets them going and we are well aware of it.”

Revis is a punk who couldn't carry Hines jock.  I like how Revis just had to get Nmandi money and still gave up more TD's and catches than he did again this year.  I personally would love to see Ward and Revis go head to head on the first play so punk Revis could spend the rest of the day trying to find his head.

B it ch and moan B it ch and moan...  I hate those Jets, I hate that fat tool of a coach that is 100% behind his team and has lead them to their second AFC championship game in a row,  I hate those Jet players that call it as they see it and back up what they say on the field...  I am  just a b it ch and will profess just how awful that underdog team from NY really is cause it makes me feel better about my own team...

Please, 24 17 Jets, write it down and kiss Rex's toes when it happens...

Jets think Hines Ward is rather dirty

The problem I have with Hines Ward is that he is every bit a dirty player AND hard worker as a guy like Rodney Harrison was. The problem is, Harrison never complained about anything and when Ward gets hit hard as a wide receiver, he is complaining all the time.

Receivers are divas, even the dirty ones.

Ha! For Cromarte or anybody else who plays defense to complain about blindside hits is ridiculous.

The best thing a wide reciever can do when a play is not coming thier way is to BLOCK.  So many now just blow off this very important task cause they are not being called upon to "make the play"  I think ward is just doing his job the best he can and wish more would do this as well.  Im not talking about the dirty stuff but you cant knock a guy for playing the fundamentals.  Just saying.

I can't stand either team to be honest with you. I think for the most part Pittsburg is a dirty team. Iuesd to like them back when they had Harris, Bradshaw, Stallworth and Swan. Plus that great "d" they had back then. I could have pulled for the Jets in this game but the only thing they know how to do is run there mouth. I'm not sure which is bigger, Ryan mouth or his stomach. I think it's a tossup. Show what you have out on the field, not how big a mouth you have. The Jets will always be a loser in my book...even if they win on Sunday. With the way the Jets mouth off it's easy to understand that there parents failed in the way they were brought up. Anyway...GO PACK!!

So Knowledge.....Knowledge????? You may want to change that name after your last post. LOL What about all the soft ass cclowns who play the game, you know the players that actually voted Ward as the dirtiest player?  I guess they can't handle the heat either. I guess he couldn't handle it either in 07 because he wanted to fight damn near ever play in the playoffs against the Jags.

Make all the excuses for him, the guy is tough but he can't take it when its done to him. And thats why I never liked him.
