Jets think Hines Ward is rather dirty

In the debate about whether Steelers WR Hines Ward is a tough, gritty, blue-collar WR who makes hard, but clean blocks on defenders or a dirty, cowardly head hunter, I usually lean toward the former.

I’m pretty sure a wide variety of players – like Jets LB Bart Scott, Ravens S Ed Reed and Bengals LB Keith Rivers, all of whom have been hammered by Ward – would disagree with my assessment.

You can add Jets defensive coordinator Mike Pettine to the list.

“Our guys I think called him the toughest guy in the league when nobody’s looking,” Pettine said, via ESPN New York.

Considering Ward was voted by his peers in Sports Illustrated as the dirtiest player in the league, Pettine’s comment might have some merit. That doesn’t mean the “tough, gritty, blue collar” thing is wrong, though.

“That works for them,” Pettine said. “He’s kind of the spark that gets them going and we are well aware of it.”

and for the record Ben has not been charged with any crime
Give me a break!

The guy was at a college bar in a small town with an entourage of bodyguards, that is straight up sexual predator behavior.

And the comment about how Bengals fans should basically not be allowed to participate?

My concern would be how CBS allows people who are advocates of rape and sexual misconduct like yourself on here.

And do us all a favor and stop acting like you EVER played football.

two things 1st if i were a wide receiver i would be looking for pay back too, every person hines has hit has tried to knock him out before every defender wants to knock someone out, my favorite player was ronnie lott he went for the knock out every chance he got. so reaves is just a whinner it comes from the new nfl style, if your afraid that you might get hurt or shorten your life expectancy well then don't play but football is a game of collisions and will always be so who can forget the day where the real LT broke joe T. leg ending his playing career but you don't hear him whinning. scott from the jets said last week he wanted to injury welker, and we all know how james from your team feels about hitting, and quite frankly thats what makes the game so great, so i'm not saying go rip there head off but if you get a chance at a clean shot on an opposing player by all means give him a slobber-knocker. as for big ben your right he wasn't convicted of any crime but its not a crime to make stupid mistakes, and be an ass or else we all would have records for some of our own dumb behavior

Jets think Hines Ward is rather dirty

okay, today's the day the jets wake up from this incredible delusion.  it's time to put a stop to all this crazy talk of the jets playing in the super bowl.  that was 42 years ago (i was just cutting teeth)!  the Steelers will give the jets some REAL reality tv and a one-way flight back to new jersey.  jets fans can take some comfort in knowing that their team will NEVER LOSE a Super Bowl... because they'll never get there again.  let's keep that 42-year streak of futility going strong.  let's send fireman ed and his band of green-clad dreamers back to the Big Apple with the knowing that they are counting on the heartbreaking J-E-T-S!

take note:  Hines Ward hits hard like a dirty player, but he squares up on people.  ask Ed Reed.  if you are just standing around on the field and not paying attention, you're gonna get clocked.  just because the guy is a wide receiver, it doesn't mean he can't put you into the dirt.  keep you head up and please stop whining about how hard the Steelers hit.  we've been hearing that song all season long.

Look at film coverage and you will see that a majority of Wards hits are clean. Yes there may be some players that are'nt appreciative on the receiving end of a bone jarring hit but your paychecks should compensate for the damage.

This is news? In a related story, a poll taken by the general public, 99% of polltakers think Donald Trump is an egotistical gasbag with a terrifying combover, al-Queda is a terrorist organization, and snow is cold.
