M. Pouncey (US Presswire)Posted by Andy Benoit

Devastating news for the Steelers: center Maurkice Pouncey is out for Super Bowl XLV. The rookie Pro Bowler suffered a high left ankle sprain when Jets linebacker Bryan Thomas inadvertently rolled up on his leg during the AFC Championship. As we wrote earlier on Wednesday, Pouncey is on crutches and in a hard cast.

Guard Chris Kemoeatu spilled the beans  about Pouncey’s status. “We are definitely sad that he won’t be able to be with us in the Super Bowl,” Kemoeatu told Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “Definitely I feel bad for him. We just have to win it for him.”

Doug Legursky, a third-year pro who was undrafted coming out of Marshall, will once again fill in. Legursky and Ben Roethlisberger had trouble with their snap exchange against New York. They now have two weeks to get that in order.

Pouncey’s absence hurts the offensive line’s mobility in the run game – a critical factor given that the way to attack Green Bay’s powerful front three is to force their 325-plus-pounders to play laterally. On the bright side, the Steelers at least won’t have to deal with the distraction of addressing Pouncey’s status every day for the next two weeks.

Steelers Pro Bowl C Pouncey out for Super Bowl

And if i understand you correctly, it's ok to "hurt pit bulls" because they aren't people?
I don't believe I said that.  But just to be clear, here it is.   What I meant to say is that although it's not ok to hurt pit bulls, they are not people.  It's not the same thing, regardless of how you spin it.  You can't compare people to animals... and the other thing I meant to stress is Vick paid for his crimes. Two years in jail is a lot time... losing almost everything he had and being forced to start over is a lot to lose....

I also didn't see your thoughts about the Mark Sanchez statement.

I didn't know about the Sanchez accusations or charges until you brought it up.  I will look it up and get back to you with my thoughts.  But one more thing... I think you misunderstood me.

I'm not angry at Ben or think he's guilty because girls accused him of sexual assault or rape.  Heck, any one of us can be accused of rape at any time in our lives... I know that can happen.  Unlikely sure, but possible ....

My problem with the whole Ben thing is a lot of little things that HAVE BEEN PROVEN..... for you it's all about innocent until proven guilty.... for me all of the evidence that did exist was really bad and tells me everything I need to know.

1) Cop who took pictures with him just prior to incident coincidentally first cop to take the girls statement.  Not weird to you?
2) That same cop resigns from a solid career? If there is no corruption, why did he retire?
3) Surveillance video mysteriously vanishes,, gets recorded over.  Weird, no ???
4) None of Ben's friends, security guards, etc saw ANYTHING at the bar??? Weird??? What do you think?
5) Her friends weren't allowed to enter the bathroom to check on their friend with Ben's guards blocking the door? Why is that?

I realize that reasonable doubt can be created by a great lawyer with any of the above... no doubt about it.  I knew the whole time he wouldn't be convicted and knew almost for sure they wouldn't bother charging him... waste of taxpayers money.

But if you honestly don't see numbers 1 through 5 above as a little fishy... well I don't know what to say...

 - we don't hate the Steelers. We hate loudmouth a$$hole fans like you. We hate losers that love to challenge everyone with a perceived superiority over accomplishments that you personally had nothing at all to do with. And for the record, the Steelers stunk for the first 50 years they existed. Yes, your team has 7 championships. Mine has 9. And more Hall of Famers. And more victories. Not that I expect you to know anything about that since you're clearly a bandwagon jackass. The Pittsburgh Steelers were a joke for decades and have been a force for decades. They have a mixed history, but they obviously deserve respect. You, on the other hand, have always been an a$$hole and deserve $hit.

Hahahahahahahahaha... Ben made camera footage disappear from the bar... hahahahahahahahahahaha

Your stupidity is unfathomable.

For a guy that actually made sense with the rest of his post, what you said above is borderline retarded.  You don't think rich people make things like that happen?? Are you kidding me?  Do you have any idea how much power people with money have?  The cops wanted to review the footage but were told it was taped over.  Do you really believe that was by accident? You honestly believe the bar owners or managers did that on their own without Ben or his people influencing them?  If so, then it's your stupidity that unfathomable, not mine sir.

The rest of your post though I have to admit made a lot of sense.  Fortunately my little kids don't look up to athletes or movie stars or anybody else except for people within their own family and circle of trust ( I love the Focker movies).

That's not why the whole Ben thing bothers me, not at all.  The reason is bothers me is because when it comes right down to it, idiotic sports fans are willing to make excuses for anybody that wears their jersey.  Circumstantial evidence or not, there was a lot against him that's for sure.  But the "beyond a reasonable doubt" thing is tough to beat in the court system today...  you can't beat a rich man like that in court easily, not without eye witnesses....

Sad, but true.

Not really.  Let's be honest, rich people, whether athletes or actors, seem to get treated differently than you or I. And, I am not saying he did or did not do anything wrong but he has yet to be charged with anything. I also find it interesting the amount of influence you give Ben over the police and investigators of this case. The problem we have is none of us were there to know what really went happened. And, Ben has lost something in this situation, his reputation. It may come out he did some horrible things and we can all pass judgement then but until that happens I will stick with innocent until proven guilty. And if i understand you correctly, it's ok to "hurt pit bulls" because they aren't people? I don't think that's a good answer at all. I also didn't see your thoughts about the Mark Sanchez statement.

Very basic =

Who cares what these people do or say????  Why should they be role models???? Who cares about them????

If people had any normal sense in their heads, we would worship people that selflessly help others in this world. They donate money to charity? So what. They have it to give. They want to give autographs to children? Good. That's a cool thing to do for children.

The bottom line (In my humble opinion...) is that I don't and won't put faith for good deeds or perfect behavior from someone who gets paid to play a game.

There are people in this world that deserve respect and admiration for building schools, caring for the sick... and just simple acts of selflessness like doing something for someone when you don't have to...

Get a grip. They play a game.

With all of that being said. I am a born and bred Pittsburgh guy and I hope that they win another championship.

Not because I live and die by a Steeler win or loss like a lot of people and fans in this town... But because for 3 hours a week, it's cool to watch a team win in a city that you call home.

P.S. I think it would've been cool to see Vick go further this season... Not because I like him as a person or I don't like dogs... But because it's cool watching him for a few hours on the weekend.

Wake up people... This discussion is borderline handicapped. Go back to work.

And tonight, on your way to your car... Help someone get the snow off of their car. That'd be nice of you.

The Steelers are definitely going to miss Maurkice Pouncey against the Packers.  B.J. Raji and Cullen Jenkins might be playing better than those 2 inside guys for the Bears right now.  Thats saying alot.  I thought Doug Legursky did unbelievably well blocking against the Jets middle.  Those bad snaps sure hurt tho.  Pittsburghs offense slowed down alot to.

I find all this negitive Ben talk interesting and yet Mike Vick is a convicted criminal that has done hard time. Why aren't he high and mighty still protesting every game he plays.
Good question with a simple answer.  Michael Vick paid for his crime. Michael Vick spent 2 years doing hard time in a federal pentitentiary. Michael Vick lost almost everything except for a house and one or two cars.  Michael Vick lost over 100 million dollars in future endorsements.

Ben lost nothing. Ben hired the best lawyers he could find who then proceeded to hire the top investigators around just to embarass the girls he hurt and make them look like idiots.  Ben was caught taking a picture with a cop that coincidentally was the first to take the girls statement and a cop who resigned from the force.  Ben made surveillance camera footage disappear from the bar.

Ben hurt people.

Michael Vick hurt pit bulls.

So, did you get the answer you were looking for?
