Devastating news for the Steelers: center Maurkice Pouncey is out for Super Bowl XLV. The rookie Pro Bowler suffered a high left ankle sprain when Jets linebacker Bryan Thomas inadvertently rolled up on his leg during the AFC Championship. As we wrote earlier on Wednesday, Pouncey is on crutches and in a hard cast.

Guard Chris Kemoeatu spilled the beans  about Pouncey’s status. “We are definitely sad that he won’t be able to be with us in the Super Bowl,” Kemoeatu told Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “Definitely I feel bad for him. We just have to win it for him.”

Doug Legursky, a third-year pro who was undrafted coming out of Marshall, will once again fill in. Legursky and Ben Roethlisberger had trouble with their snap exchange against New York. They now have two weeks to get that in order.

Pouncey’s absence hurts the offensive line’s mobility in the run game – a critical factor given that the way to attack Green Bay’s powerful front three is to force their 325-plus-pounders to play laterally. On the bright side, the Steelers at least won’t have to deal with the distraction of addressing Pouncey’s status every day for the next two weeks.

Steelers have no chance of winning this one against Green Bay.  Listen to other receivers who've played against the DB's of both teams.  Green Bay will have their Offense spread wider than Courtney Love and move at will.  The LB's will be forced to drop into coverage to close off the short routes which will open the door to the bomb.  Big Ben stops ticking having to scramble every other down.
Bell doesn't play so there will be no last minute stuff.  Green Bay is up by 17 at half and wins by 24.

Too bad about the center.  That's a huge blow.  Steelers didn't look sharp when he went down.  The lonely Jets put up a lot of points on that D too.  What did they score on GB?  Oh yeh, 0.

I'm from Chicago and sadly Go Bearsssss is appearantly part of this great city.  You're the same jack ass trashing the ref at your kid's soccer game no doubt.   Get a clue, they have to declare and make plans otherwise if he cannot go and he obviously cannot.  I'm sure you called the score all week trashing Jay too.  Good luck with your next pyramid scheme jack ass.

Go Bearsssss.

What an idiot!  How clueless?  No idea!

The doctors put his foot in a hard cast because it was so bad.  Typically high ankle sprains take almost 6 weeks to heal.

I'm sure that when you play in your 16 year old marbles league that you play through severe thumb pain. Get a clue.

When you are good, you make your own breaks.  I'm sorry your team is no good Ballr.  Maybe you can find a real team.   The Steelers can't  have that many winning seasons.  Since 1970, they had 30 winning seasons (20 seasons with 10 wins or more). 8 Super Bowl appearances, 6 Super Bowl Championships and  a chance at number 7.   Give me your address and I'll mail you $2 so you can buy yourself a clue.  Yea, your're right.  They are lucky.  LOL

Rodger's isn't an elite QB until he wins it all and the last time I checked the last 2 games are his only playoff wins.

BRING THE HEAT FROM THE EDGE HARRISON AND WOODLEY!!! Knock him into LALA Land, sweet dreams Mr Rodger's

Manning & Brady will be watching the game just like us, so your point is???  From what I`ve seen Rodgers is damn good, not unbeatable but a very good QB.  Like a young Matt Hasselbeck right?  Does that help you to understand?  What Wally Whitehurst dreams of being when he smokes his hash pipe.

The Steelers had great wins, and obviously played well in all of their SB victories.. That said, the one complaint I can understand regarding calls from the refs was against Seattle. I've watched that one over and it was actually very one sided......I won't say seattle got "jobbed" or "would have won" but there were some very questionable calls that hurt......Mike Holmgren even commented after, which is rare for any coach in that game.
