Ah, who doesn’t love a good Twitter throw-down? Looks like we’ve got a pretty good one on our hands between Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck and Jets CB Antonio Cromartie.

Earlier today, as reported by Pro Football Talk, Hasselbeck tweeted the following: “Somebody ask Cromartie if he knows what CBA stands for.”

Then, Hasselbeck quickly deleted it. It appeared Hasselbeck was taking a shot at Cromartie – and possibly at his nine-kids-by-eight-mothers career – after Cromartie bitched about the labor negotiations between the NFLPA and owners and called union leadership an a------.

Now, Cromartie has responded in kind. Wrote Cromartie: “hey Matt if u have something to then say it (sic) be a man about it. Don't erase it. I will smash ur face in.”

Now, all eyes turn to boxing promoter Don King. When can we get these guys in the ring? After all, we’ll need something to watch/cover when the players are locked out.

UPDATE (3:38 p.m.):
Bad news for those looking for a fight. Tweeted Hasselbeck: "Sorry for the joke man. No hard feelings. DB's & QB's have a hard time getting along I guess sometimes. lol"

Ahh yes, sounds like another inbred, inner city negro who was great at football, given a full ride along with cash and gifts, (Cam Newton Style), was given "Basket Weaving" as a major pushed through school only to sound dumb as shit when interviewed when tweeting or texting. That's one dumb mother f$#%er !!

Just for full disclosure, Matt Hasselbeck got credit for photocopying handouts from Boston College, and didn't take many tests.  True story.  He used to brag about it at parties.

I'm not surprised by the comments, this isn't the first time a Jets player has said something stupid, stay tuned folks.

Legally, what Cromartie did is considered assault because of the threat, meaning he is a criminal.  The owners must love seeing some random thug without a concept in the world how business, much less collective bargaining, works undermining the hard work of those actually in the union leadership (I'm not saying the players are right, I'm just saying there are some players wokring hard on behalf of other players).  How conveneinet that some wanna be criminal refuses to do anything to help other players but doesn't hesitate to run his mouth, undermining the cause, and maming himself look like and idiot in the mean time.  Hasslebeck probably shouldn't have responded (never egg on the trolls) but what he said was dead on.  Cromartie is an idiot.

Wait, I though Cromartie and the Jets be preparing for the Super Bowl???That is what Rex Ryan said all season. Oh, that's right they got put back in their place with the rest of the 30 non-super bowl teams. Maybe Rex and Crow should wait until they actually win a Super Bowl for the Jets.

To Jeremijkane and the post "I'd be fired and arrested"

I would have to agree with you on your post concerning Cromartie's comment back.  You are right when you say that, though I don't know about prison time.  If you or I were to make such a statement, then there would consequences.  I know there would be for me and I wear a "Green Uniform" and am in the Army and have seen my share of deployments.

The whole thing started when Cromartie bashed his union representation in a foul mouth way.  Nothing says he has to agree with his union reps, but to do this during negotiations and in public is just wrong.  Cromartie is nothing more than a classless idiot who spews trash.

For starters, if you are gonna comment on the union leadership and want your opinion to be taken seriously then say something without swearing in it.  It makes you look like an idiot and will not be taken seriously.  And then to say 'I'll smash yo face' , how can anybody take him seriously.  I not dogging on him for defending himself but he looks like a thug in all of this.  At least hasselbeck appologized but doesnt he realize he said this to one of the biggest mouths out there.  I bet in the time i just typed this he had another baby also.

the only thing that is more absurd than grown men acting like 2 year olds on the internet is the infinite amount of press it attracts, gotta wonder if Cromartie uses the adolescent ploy to impregnant most of the western hemisphere
